Smart, and agree on this approach. Did that for years, and got sick and tired of carrying around a second phone.
If you have a samsung phone, they have secure folder feature which is essentially a 2 ... That's an interesting feature, never heard of it. I looked it up, and it seems you can even install apps??
My main concern is apps, like I don't want to use the same tinder, what's app, instagram... that I use on my main phone, it seems that this Samsung feature solves this issue... but I have an iPhone
You're right, carrying a second phone can be annoying, but I usually just leave it in the hotel safe.
Some pros and cons of having a second phone:
Pros:
- no notifications from home, work,... which is great to have a real break
- doesn't matter if it gets stolen
- no risk of making a mistake
Cons:
- camera isn't great
- needs to be carried around
- no access to personal emails, which can be useful sometimes (I once needed my passport and didn't have a copy, it was super hard to get due to 2FA)
- bank apps usually don't want to be installed on 2 different phones

All those are great tips. But I go even further.
I have an Android phone (fresh from the store bought with cash) that has never been on my own WiFi, the Gmail account on the phone is a new fresh bur ... Wow that's a lot.
If you're going that far you should also get a Mullad VPN subscription. You can buy it with crypto–Monero is accepted I think.
I guess you could also use a custom privacy Rom, like GrapheneOS.
But TBF most wives and scammer aren't that tech-savy to justify this work. |
