Same here, better than tinder in China imho but i targeted a different "group" of girls - just been to the trade fair in Guangzhou for a week: I got more matches than I could handle in that short time. Don't know maybe it helps that I am in my mid twenties + got a big full grown beard which seems to be non existant in China (although I was told they usually like shaven men better, could not confirm that one  ).
I've been very upfront with only being there for a week makeing it part of my bio. Don't understimate the girls on there, if you're telling them you're only there for a week they all know what's up and if you get a match you don't need to waste endless hours chatting back and forth, get to the point. Just ask them if they would like to meet up - around 50% of my matches acted kinda shy, but it's only an act.
Only Chinese: You can use the baidu translation app (I didn't expect it working that good tbh), most of my matches had no problem with me writing in english while they used chinese.
Fakes: I think I have to disagree with you or maybe I just got lucky. Most of the girls were posting moments & sending a shitton of real pics, wanted to exchange audio messages or video calls.
