195cm tall...you are out of luck as there are no Big and Tall shops here in HK. For off-the-peg suits, it is hard to find suits larger than size 54 (44 in chest) and if there any, they are for stocky asians which means the sleeves and the body of the jacket won't be long enough for you. The slacks may be long enough to cover your legs but most likely there won't be enough material to make cuffs.
The best bet would be for you to go for a tailor suit. For a properly made tailored suit, you will need to give the tailor at least a week to construct one because of the 3 fittings. 1st fitting to measure you, 2nd fitting to confirm the shape of jacket and any adjustments in the middle of construction, and finally 3rd fitting to try on the completed suit. I don't have a tailor to recommend because I think mine retired long ago. If you want reassurance, you can try the ones in Prince Bldg in Central or in the many 5 star hotel lobbies. Those guys on the street are a hit-and-miss and especially so if you are a tourist.
If you don't have enough time, there is a way to save time on the 1st fitting. Since you are coming to HK for a wedding, you must know someone here in HK. Ask your friend to find a tailor for you, then you find someone to measure you in Australia, then send those measurements to the tailor in HK. You will have to trust your friend to pick a good style, color, patterns, and fabric for you. When you arrive in HK, half of the suit would have been completed, saving you some days. | |
