Typical of typhoons that hit hk. That's why nobody (except the boatpeople) takes them seriously.  One of the scariest weather systems I experienced was January's excyclone Oswald - the wind was whistling for six plus hours. We have a sail connected to the roof of the house, which serves as a carport. Very scary watching the sail shake violently and the walls tremble thinking the roof would fly off with the sail. They called it an excyclone but there were uprooted trees everywhere and serious flooding.
