i think almost every bro on this board wd help out Rose in whatever way we could. we're glad wander is helping, but he's gotta be frustrated that he can't help more. it's natural: we know these ladies as human beings, and if we see them more than a few times and have great times with them, we know that they too could (and sometimes DO!) help us out, even in small ways. it's a fun hobby...95% of the time. sadly, some lowlife did something awful to this woman, and we hope he's caught and prosecuted.
SEAJ posed an interesting question about Zi Teng. i'm not an expert on this group, but it was formed in '96 and seems similar to other sex-worker NGOs in other countries. i don't know if they consult with other similar NGOs in other countries. i think they're relatively small and don't have a huge budget, and they focus on Chinese-language materials with some English translation. if you've been to 141-walkups u have probably seen those signs in English that remind u to use a condom and pay for services rendered--those are for the protection of the girls. my feeling is that they're non-judgmental as to local or PRC, but of course they must respect the law and as we know, the laws governing 141-activity in HK are quite narrow. so while their material won't be in simplified Chinese (as used on the mainland), my feeling is that a PRC WG in trouble could contact them if they ran into trouble here in HK. i'm sure they have Mandarin-speakers who can advise how to deal with various problems.
they do some publications, cheap printouts on A4-paper, and they print CCTV screen-captures of guys who are known to be mobile-phone thieves, etc. they'll paste these up in 141-hallways. i think you'd have to sink pretty low to swipe some WG's mobile phone, but apparently some guys do. i wd think that in cases of violence, they wd be willing to help to whatever extent possible. note that ZT has criticized the HKP in the past for accepting unpaid favors from WGs. but i don't think there's any heavy animosity between the two factions. i believe the HKP is more concerned about violent acts committed in HK than consensual 141-activity, and in this regard, ZT concurs. they seem to genuinely care about the women in this trade.
as for those from other lands, it's a bit different. i tried to explain ZT to Miki, the Thai gal i had so much fun with earlier this year. i don't think she ever really understood. in her world, there's just the LE and if u have enough currency, u don't have a problem. things don't work that way in HK, but there's nothing like ZT in Thailand. i consider them an important resource, but as an NGO focusing on a trade with gray legal areas, their scope is limited. they have held protest marches, small ones, with WGs (wearing ball caps/shades/surgical masks) carrying signs, so they're not insignificant.
