I truly commend you - being Indian yoursef - that you've taken this attitude and stance.
But I must caution you that such "vitriol" (your words! LOL!) as you had expressed is probably NOT useful for anybody and even could serve as a disservice to yourself and other Indians. Indeed, the perpetrator's nationality has NOT been definitely determined PLUS, even if he was an Indian, I'd rather think that he'd be the exception vs. the rule and that all nationalities/ races/religion etc each and ALL have its own share of misfits/weirdos/sickos etc.
Yes, definitely in order for us to discuss what nationality the Perp's is - but only as means to identifying the PARTICULAR INDIVIDUAL and not to be used for racial profiling etc.
And to be perfectly frank - I would think that a lot of us here (including myself) would have a hard time differentiating between an Indian, Pakistani, Sri Lankan - even some of the races from the Middle East and perhaps even Indonesia. I apologize for saying this - but the fact of the matter is that we in Hong Kong ARE just too used to the Generic term "Indian" when referrig to races from South Asia.
