Since I posted this I have received unsolicited offers of support to Rose from the great Bro's on this site - be it medical advice, cash donations, help with LE and immigration...
Wow.., that is a real testament to the heart this community has, and the quality of the Bros that frequent it. I am touched guys.., and Rose would be thankful. Thank you! I dont know if I will need to take you up on any offers, but it is bloody grand of you to have offered!
As of this a.m. she says she's doing better. One eye remains totally swollen shut, bruised and bloody - but they dont think she'll be left with scars. (I think I feared this the most - a young girl with scars on her face? So tough for her ego and self-esteem, right?) I just hope full vision is restored. Her english is good, but not quite good enough to explain what the operations (she had one yesterday and one scheduled for today) are actually for (she might even just mean "stiches" and not an actual operation, but I cant quite tell). But the fact she remains in hospital says it is serious enough, I guess.
And her mood is better. She laughed about it and happy to talk to me about it. Seems her agent is being pretty supportive of her too, so that is cool -- she didnt just bail out on Rose when the paycheck stopped coming! Good on her...
And she has spoken to the police!! She gave a full account of what happened and the best description she could. Damn good for that! Hope they catch the bugger. Seems she has over-stayed on her visa by only a few days (not weeks or months), so she'll be booted out yes, but perhaps not treated with the maximum harshness and blacklisted for two years. We'll see.
