If I may, allow me to take a shot at replying;
First thing first, let me suggest that you go back and read the "Getting Started" section and really read it instead of just skimming through it. Skimming through this section was what I did when I first started here, and I did myself no favors doing it - as I ended up getting "my collar yanked" quite a few times.
Yes, there doesn't seem to be any hard and fast "rules" on 141 - and the reason for this is that this forum relies on concensus opinion - from ALL members as well as the Mods/Admin etc - to develop a framework of favored AND acceptable ADULT behaviour. We tend to self police and each member has the right to actually chastise (and of course reward) any other by use of the A and K points. If such usage of points is not correct, you can see that other members will be quick to point it out and even reverse such.
Anyway, this being so does make it harder for a new participants here to actually realize what is OK or not OK - and thus my suggestion for you to really read and understand the "Getting started " section.
On the Mods - you have to understand that ALL the Mods are unpaid and volunteer workers who truly spend their time and effort to help out towards the best development of 141. They are truly the unpaid and unsung heros here - for I can really empathize with the frustration that I know they must at one time or another experience with characters like myself!! But they stoically go on their job and try very hard to be objective. Yeah - not always succesful - but its truly as good as anybody can expect - when too darn many misplaced "ires and complaints" are directed at them. The system you suggest will not only place undue burden on them, it is also not objective at all and will just cause all sort of objections and or appeal from everybody - for in the final analysis - what is a good or bad post?
Our present system is NOT automatic as you you had stated - it is based upon all of us helping out by awarding or deducting points instead of just the Mods doing so. ANYBODY can chime in his opinion of a particular post by the use of these points - and thus rest assured that if you do write a good post, then somebody WILL reward you with ++"s....and be equally assured that if you write a crap one - the Neg's will also come!
On pictures, from what I have read here as well as from enquiries etc - HG girls are quite cool with pictures if they think/know that you will write a favorable report HERE extolling their good service/beauty etc - as a sort of free promotion for her during her very short stay in Hong Kong to make $$. This whole site here used to be blocked by the Great Wall of China, plus even now, the DB's are NOT accessible from China (even if you use a proxy to try to access the DB from here in China, you will get re-directed to the Night Life web page). This gives the girls comfort in thinking that their pictures and details are NOT going to get splashed back on the internet in their home town/China etc - and thus the gals think it OK to allow them if they are convinced that you showing their pictures and reporting on how good she is etc will help their business by popularizing them.
And no, of course we will not shoot the messenger - especially if like you, the messenger had written a well thought out (albeit IMHO a wrong idea tho!) and heart felt post. Actually that is PRECISELY how the "guidelines" we all subscribe to on this forum gets developed; somebody thinks of something, brings it up, we discuss it and come up with a concensus as to how to best handle this "something,"....and it becomes another guideline.
And so.... thank you for bringing this "something" up and my best wishes for an enjoyable and long membership here.
