Bear in mind that most web-based proxies only disguise ip addresses - they don't really encrypt the data transmitted between your computer and the website you're viewing. In which case, any good IT guy monitoring web usage could still see anything the shows up on your screen. In order to encrypt data between you and the proxy your connecting through, you would need to install some encrypting/decrypting software on the computer you're using. I think products like Anonymizer Total Net Shield do this. But as DArtagnan says, encrypted traffic would raise suspicions with the IT people. | |
