How well-known are walk-up buildings?

I still consider myself very new to punting so whenever i go to a walk-up building i've never been to, i am still nervous and trying to avoid having people see me go in. For me personally, even though im new to HK, i've recently gone into walk-up buildings that i've realised i have walked past and had no clue what was inside. I remember walking past the Fuji building years ago thinking oh wow such a fancy building, cool.

Anyways, my question is : how well known are these walk-up buildings? Is it safe to say almost every local HKer knows or at least has an idea that "that building" is for 141s? Or maybe unless punting is a hobby of yours, you would never know? I never even knew this hobby was legal in HK until 2022!

If you stroll around many areas of Mongkok, Prince Edward and (particularly) Sham Shui Po, you'd see a single pink or red florescent strip on the ground floor.  These lights indicate there's 141 walk ups inside.  And YES, most Hong Kong adult men know what those lights mean.

Fuji is an exception because there's no lights and nothing on the ground floor indicating what's inside.  But most 141 clusters have something.

As for going inside, a lot of these 141 clusters also have normal residents and businesses in the building.  So if you're spotted going up, it doesn't mean you're seeking sex.  It could also mean you're going up to get a haircut.

Furryfriend already covered most. You're still under mask restrictions so by all means stroll into anyone of them and no one would care.Buildings like Fuji/KinHing are pretty much occupied by WG only, with the exception of Kin Hing somehow still has a badminton shop inside, and occasionally some fuckers would stalk the entrance, take photos of the punters for unknown reason so watch out.

And for God's sake if you want to stay anonymous DON'T give the taxi driver the building name, THEY KNOW. They're men and have needs and you most likely run into one of them during walk-ups.

As for locals, THEY KNOW VERY WELL WHERE THOSE BUILDINGS ARE.

I am a local and I go to the below buildings the most:
1) Sheung Wan Kam Bong Building
2) CWB Phoenix Apartment
3) TST James S. Lee Mansion
4) Jordan Formost Building

A lot of the women in SSP are in mid 40 - early 50s.
