Top official caught in unlicensed massage parlour

https://www.scmp.com/news/hong-k ... ional-security-unit

What are the rules and legal background here? I would think it’s the obligation of the massage parlour to sort out their livense and not the customers?

Pay must be so bad if he had to visit here for a release. Much better to go to high end spas where you see celebs

I was thinking the same thing. It's like when the police bust and charge people for drinking at an unlicensed bar.. How the heck would I know if they have a license or not? Yes, I know technically all businesses in HK have to display their BR somewhere visible but 2 things about this rational. #1 is can't someone simply print a fake BR quite easily? And #2 who actually walks into a massage parlour or bar and goes like "Can I see your license first?"

But this guy was probably just mongering. And to that... Who cares? Why do people here (or I guess anywhere but I feel it's more accentuated in HK) love "scandals"?

This is the way.

If you look at this more closely, notice which police section have been assigned to look into this case … its the anti triad section (or whatever they call it)

Most 'spas' we talk about here have licenses under foot massage and even if they didn't you can't be arrested because you were in an unlicensed place

I think he's been looked into for connections with triads

Just wondering .... he got arrested only because he was a police officer?
What if one of us are in a hotel room with a HG that we found on 141 or TG? Will we be liable to be arrested?
One of my earliest experiences of Walk Ups... about 14 years ago was in Fortress Hill. There was this Providence building with over a dozen of girls. I checked them all and then went back for the one that attracted me the most. Had a shower and got a WBBBJ and when we were done and drying up for the next stage... there was this rude banging on the door and on the cctv we saw a couple of cops with uniforms. We hurriedly put on our clothes and the girl opened the door and spoke in Chinese with the cops and showed him something (maybe her HKID) cos I was not sure if she was from HK or China. The cops then called me as they were in the passage outside. I was shitting in my pants big time cos I thought my time had come. They asked me for my HKID and spoke on the radio and noted the card number. Handed it back to me and left. I was so fucking relieved that i actually had a massive session after that. I took such a long time to cum....
But with the new laws in town... what is the possibility that they are not interested in customers? or will we be arrested like that NSL cop?

He was not arrested.  He was being investigated for misconduct, not illegal activities.  It's legal to visit these establishments.  The crime is the running of a brothel and for WGs working while on tourist visas.  I have been questioned before at a TST hotel by undercover cops when I was trying to enter a room with a HG.  I said I was seeing a friend and the undercover cop said to me that "we both know why you're here" and told me to leave the hotel.

"While authorities did not mention the name of the premise, local media reported that the unlicensed parlor Choi visited is called Viet Spa, an upstairs unit on Johnston Road."
