So, mate cave down to BKK for a few beers. Started at the chippy for dinner, onto the penalty spot (sole customers) then along Cowboy. Monday nite so very few punters. Went to Long Gun for some live muzak and more beers. Tuk Tuk ride over to Patpong. Got dropped at Patpong 1, and my mate went into 7/11 for some water. Bar across the street looked pretty crap but they walked over and said please come in. Go go is called Thing Bar. Went in, and lots of early to mid twenties dancers, and very friendly. We were the sole customers. We got to play our own music, which we did, went for stripper and rap music playlist and bought the girls a lot of drinks which was much appreciated. The papasan and mamas sent us some free drinks and we stayed until midnight. Plenty of girls int he Thigh Bar that were takehomable, but had had a few beers and had to get up early the next morning. Did get a couple of Line IDs and might partake during the daytime. Total bill for a superb evening of good music, pretty girls and a laugh was THB3700. I cannot complain!

Did the mama and papa try to push some girls?
Did you ask any of them what the going rate is now, as various reports say prices have come down bcoz of lack of customers.
What about the night market there. Was it open with such few tourists.

Hi flowmon, hope you're doing well. Posting this as general info for all bros.

Thailand is NOT open for general tourism at the moment. Yes, you can get a visa and book an ASQ (Alternate State Quarantine) hotel. I don't know the details but I would research online and check with your local Thai consulate or embassy. You may need visa + flight before booking ASQ, and availability of rooms at various prices will...vary. The bottom line is that while Thailand would like tourist revenue to resume, they have no realistic plans as to how to do that in the short term.

ASQ is quarantine: you don't leave the hotel, they bring you meals. Rules are often flexible in Thailand, but as there's nominally zero cases in-country and two diplomats so far have tested COVID-positive in the last couple of months upon leaving/entering Thailand, you're not getting Nid or Noi delivered to your room. You're in there with a TV, bottled water, and wi-fi. I think if you test negative after a week they give you an hour in the hotel gym or something. The food is said to be good.

If all this sounds like casual trips to Thailand are off the menu, it's because they are, for now. The TAT keeps inventing schemes and making pronouncements for "special tourist visas" and whatever. It seems clear they have no clear plan other than write off the current "high season" and hope for a safe/effective vaccine to be developed, implemented and adopted.

I've been living in Bangkok for over a year now and there are many, many WGs on Thai Friendly--I assume Tinder as well but I avoid everything-Facebook. I hear the gogo bars are open and, as igbadbill1997 wrote (thanks bro!), you can go there and be the center of attention. Any and all discretionary spending by expats in the Kingdom is appreciated. I'm doing my part.

i'm not in bangkok and cannot wait to go back... from what i've been told most girls are still charging the same, maybe a bit less but it seems service is definitely a lot better as girls are trying to keep repeat customers

the night markets in patpong are not there so the whole street is really empty and seems like some of the bars put tables outside for the girls to eat... even saw some pics where they used the street to play games during Halloween last week

All the girls threw themselves at us. Mama and Papasan pushed. But we were in that happy drunken place and not too bothered about takeouts. It’s a buyers market at the moment. Overall quality in a lot of gogo bars is down. Dunno about pricing as I’m not usually price sensitive. The outdoor area was deserted. Doubt these bars will stay open much longer as no footfall.
