Another Visa problem :(

Hi guys,
since my trip to Lijiang has been cancelled due to some financial problem of mine I was thinking to go to Foshan & Shunde from Guangzhou.

The problem here is what kind of Visa I need to purchase, let me explain my trips outside HK:
-2 days in GZ [leaving from HK to GZ and then after a night there come back to hk]
-3 days in FOSHAN-SHUNDE ,the hotel will be in Foshan  [leaving from HK to GZ and then Foshan]

I tried to contact two webiste you provided me in my other thread about visas but never had an asnwer
Now I'm asking you, I just need a Visa since all the cities I'm going to are in the Guangdong? or need something else?

Thx again!

A China visa is a China visa, good to anywhere in the country.  I just got mine renewed and they still wanted roundtrip tickets and a hotel reservation.  I bought a set of same-day ferry tickets which negated the need for a hotel reservation, got a 1 year multiple entry visa.

If you are in HK, and have time, just go to the PRC Consulate yourself, otherwise many travel agents will do it for an additional fee.

From looking at the China Travel Service website in Hong Kong, states there is 3 year multiple pass visa - http://www.ctshk.com/english/useful/chinesevisa.htm but will have to investigate as I need to renew my china visa soon.

You can find the costs for the visas (does not state a 3 year visa option) here - http://www.fmcoprc.gov.hk/eng/zgqz/blsjfy/

I usually go to the China Travel Service Centre. However, there are only a few branches that offer the China visa application - Central, Wanchai and Sheung Wan.

5-htp - have you tried their overseas office in Canada? There contact details can be found on the site - http://www.ctshk.com/english/aboutus/oversea.htm#canada

The usual practice in Hong Kong is that, if you know a travel agent, they would help to create a fake travel itinerary with air ticket and hotel booking. Some may charge a small fee for this. Not sure if you can do in Canada...

Great news.

Pokerboy - how long did it take you to process the the visa application? Was it a tourist or business visa?

this is so weird, everytime i read this forum, i ASSUME, everyone is single like me, and around the same age, 25-30, and just punts or plays poker anytime they want, but then someone has to bring up their "misses" and find an excuse to get outta HK... makes me feel pretty happy to be NOT hitched

Multi entry visas

Three year multi entry is only for Permanent HKID holders.  Other HKID holders (e.g., expats with employment visas) can only get a 6 month or 1 year multi entry.  In either case it is a lot more useful than the two entry max the were giving to most people during the extended "olympics" period.  Most HK travel agents can process it for you without needing to go to Wanchai.
