I think he means something like CX crew.
A few years ago in Seoul one airline had put its stews (Korean and Japanese) in one hotel, the Swisshotel, very far north of Seoul and the captains at the Lotte Hotel. This is because the pilot's wives (all western) complained to the airline that they did not want their men staying in the same hotel as these chicks.
Of course the airline gave into them rather than telling them to piss off.
As I said some time ago, there is nothing more insecure and nervous than a middle aged white woman in living Bangkok who is the wife of a white expat.
