Anthony Bourdain dies....

https://www-m.cnn.com/2018/06/08 ... ain-obit/index.html

It is sad... I love his show. He was living a dream that many people could only dream of living.

I guess the demon is still inside of him.  He will be missed RIP

I travel because of him.

"Travel changes you. As you move through this life and this world you change things slightly, you leave marks behind, however small. And in return, life — and travel — leaves marks on you. Most of the time, those marks — on your body or on your heart — are beautiful. Often though, they hurt."

"If you’re twenty-two, physically fit, hungry to learn and be better, I urge you to travel — as far and as widely as possible. Sleep on floors if you have to. Find out how other people live and eat and cook. Learn from them — wherever you go."

He had a way with words which just captivated me. Very sad news indeed.

Loved his show so much. I'm honestly not surprised he did it as he had a cray addiction to crack, speed and heroin in his early days.
Just showed the lengths he was willing to go.

If anyone has seen the parts unknown episode in Miami after the Korean backwards episode and he meets his hero the music artist (forget his name) , but it's crazy because that artist found peace and Bourdain seems genuinely surprised by it. I won't spoil it...but it's a touching moment. I just wish Bourdain had given himself a chance at that same peace.

Anthony Bourdain was a gifted writer and opened the eyes and minds of many to peoples and their cultures around the world -- including here in Hong Kong, in the last episode of his show broadcast before he died.

But more important than all that, he was a mensch, according to all who knew him, no matter how briefly -- always talked to you as a fellow human being, showing interest in your life and concern for your interest. RIP

I generally find American travel and cooking presenters to be overly flamboyant and brash in their presentation.
What I love about Anthony was his honest and down to earth style. He wasn't afraid to visit the dark ally ways on the hunt for something different and to tell things as they are, without the gloss and sugar coating that is so beloved by many tv shows..
