On my first visit I found the Wanchai strip easily enough and was tempted, Neptune III offered me free entry but I was a day late for the maid parade and worried about the cost of drinks - I assumed they are higher in Wanchai given you're enjoying the entertainment, and the later Return on Investment is higher if you go home with a take away Where would you go for nicer surroundings and quality beer?  British beer a bonus Recent Ratings austin821   23-6-2016 05:36   Acceptance   +3   Good post Moth.

Also along Salisbury Rd TST there are some good bars and Restaurants . If you're in Wanchai, Queen Victoria is a good watering hole.  Prices are VERY reasonable for HK, and aside from peak maid times clientele is mostly guys killing time.  You might meet the odd wg but they're the exception rather than the rule.   If you want a more civvie environment than Wanchai, totally support austin821 that TST East is a good place to hang out.  WGs are one street back from the waterfront, so again no hassles.  Big choice of bars, music, ambience, and beers.   If you want great beer, there's a tiny little fish-and-chip shop called Beer n Fish, up in mid levels.  Google is your friend.  Their beer is awesome, as is their fish, but don't go for the social life as there isn't one there.
