Tijuana, thinking of going. Any recent experience?

The last post as a guide for going to Tijuana was the following:

Is it still as unsafe as this post makes it seem? Had anyone been there recently who can share a few pointers?

I'm thinking of going the weekend of April 8th, specifically the evening of April 10th for a few hours. I have never been to Tijuana, despite living in California for years. I'd like to know if a few hours during the evening of Sunday, April 10th is enough. Or if it's a bad idea to go during evenings altogether.

I'm currently on a project in So Cal, and punting in Tijuana is on the list of things I want to do before I die, but obviously I don't want to die trying to achieve this =P

If any of you guys are looking to take a trip there on this day, feel free to PM me. Again, I've never been there, so any tips is greatly appreciated. Thanks again!
