This question probably been popped up many times. I want to ask if any one actually been caught by the police while in action with a girl in the room?
If you get caught what will the police do? will you be put in jail or be reported?

Nothing would happen in HK/Macau as punting is legal here.

In China, you can be jailed up to 15 days.

3P or crazier stuff however is illegal and criminal in all three places and can potentially lead to long prison term. So think twice before trying these.

more then 2 people in a 141 walk up room is illegal, but you can have 3p, 4p or 8p anywhere other then in a walk up room ...

For China, it is highly recommended to go to reputable 4 star hotels or higher.  For those, usually cops don't go there for raid, unless they think you have drugs.

I asked a KTV agent I know about this, basically, the rule is if the hotel arranged by the KTV, it is 100% safe or if the hotel you stay at is a 4 star hotel or higher/ foreign chain hotel (like IHG group hotels) usually there are no raids there, unless they believe you have drugs.

if you are keeping a girl for the whole night, and you are afraid of raids, they say you should consider registering the girl's name with the concierge.  It helps in the sense that cops won't bother you if they believe you know the person you are staying with.

Check my old post about Macau, I was in Sanado when the place was raided. And the cops even went to the back in the rooms. Fortunately I think they got a tip off and there did not appear to be anyone inside.

Anyways, sitting in the lounge chair I was shitting bricks, and already trying to remember the number for my lawyer incase I needed one, but they appear to only target locals or PRC customers for questioning.

RAIDS can happen even in 4 to 5 star hotels.  It is usually some in house person like a manager or bellboy finking on you but It is very rare even 4 to 5 star hotel.

Around 8 years ago, I was at a walk up around 11am, picked the girl and was in the process of getting out of the shower when I heard a loud knock on the door. It seems the girl was followed up by plain clothes cops who waited until we had started to knock on the door, probably to make their case for the arrest stronger, while we were technically not in the act were already naked and getting ready to get down.  I was quite nervous at this point being in the room thinking it was one of those full on raids with dozens of cops and and media outside.  I had also been aware of the presence of plainclothes in these areas and their jobs to routinely check and card girls on the street and in the brothels so i was hoping it was one of those routine checks instead.

The cop at the door asked us to get dressed and led us to the recieving area where there were two more cops talking to the guy behind the desk. They were talking to him, it was not a friendly conversation but they weren't holding him at gunpoint either.   Once we were situated, one of the cops spoke to the girl in Mandarin she nodded her head and started to cry. At the same time one other cop told me I was in a brothel, I tried to explain I thought it was just a massage but the guy just shook his head and explained they were arresting the girl for violating the terms of her visa by working there. They took my number and carded me, I tried giving a fake number at first but they called it and made me give the real one, I'm lucky they didn't find that grounds to arrest me right there.  After all that they quickly waked down the stairs with the girl. I stayed behind for a minute having a drink of water trying to calm myself.  The guy behind the desk asked me if I wanted another girl after that. I just looked at him and left.


I guess that was a routine check for people abusing their tourist visas rather than anything else, pretty straight forward, the third cop even seemed bored.  I'm not sure how things work but these visa checks seem to be performed regularly but independent from vice raids where they rush in and arrest everyone involved.

that doesn't add up ... in brothels, there are guys behind desk but not for walk ups (except if there is a security station at the entrance to the building)

They will inform your embassy if you are caught. No problem if it is legal in your country. However, if not, criminal procedures might be initiated upon return from travel.In such a case, getting citizenship of a country which allows it is the only way. It is well known that hotel guys do side work as informants for intelligence agencies due to low pay.

Three years ago when the great crackdown of 2014 central was handing out big reward tipoffs to anyone ratting on any john bringing in prostitutes in the hotel. Hardly the intelligence employed informant like you stated. Anyone that is chinese could do it. Hell even your grandmom could call up the hotline and rat someone off.  As of the past three years I haven't heard that since. I'm guessing the reward is now expired.

Hotel staff actually have very little incentive to  report you to authorities. Yes, they might get a reward, but then ....1.. if the management finds out, they will likely find some excuse to let that person go and 2. If hotel has bad business, it means they will employ fewer people... And the informant might still be let go even if management doesn't find out.

As long as you're not a dick about it, there's little reason for someone to inform on your activities. I won't go so far as to say it won't happen.... But there's very little incentive to do so. Hotels exist to make money. I don't think they care who is in the rooms so long as 1. The room gets paid for and 2. You don't disturb other guests.

It was a brothel. There was a guy at a desk and he arranged girls to come in.

What I read on some Chinese sites (Shanghai night life specifically) is that if it is your room ( only applicable if you are in areal legit hotel), it is almost impossible for the police to prove that the girl is an escort, unless you or the girl give yourself up.

If you stick to a story of "she's my girlfriend", "I met her at the bar and we are having a great night" etc, there is little they can do.

I tend to ask girls to come dressed conservatively or casual, as to not trigger attention.

I am not sure the police can forcefully gain access to the room either. In any case if someone knocks at the door whilst your in the middle of it, get you cloth on, keep your condom on under your underwear and act as if she really was your girlfriend or night conquest.

Then pray for the best!

@tarasse... It's sadly not what you say, but what the LEs choose to believe when you're in China. When it comes to what's going on in your room.... It's like poker night / mhjohng. Technically, it's gambling and it's illegal. Chances are, LEs aren't going to come and raid a friendly game between friends. That being said... If you've been a dick, and they really want to come after you... Doesn't matter that no money has changed hands... The fact that you have a MJ set out and 4 people sitting around it, is evidence enough. As is... You have a naked girl in your hotel room. So it's more whether or not they believe you than what comes out of your mouth.
