Super STD in Europe any effect on HK?

In the UK BBBJ is pretty common. DT is also common as is swallowing.

Since 2013 and quite recently there has been an outbreak (outbreak means 16 carriers have been identified) to have anti biotic super STDs which can never be cured.

As a result OWO or BBBJ, DT CIM/Swallow has been taken off the menu pretty much everywhere. Parlours (saunas) have even made news announcements that anything unprotected oral wise is off the menu pretty much forever.

Considering the first super STD was discovered in Japan:

How exactly has this affected the HK scene where unprotected oral is less common?

Good heads-up ...

and some - slightly - good news ...

"The super-strain designated H041 was found to have infected a female Japanese sex worker in 2011 and was resistant to "last line of defense" antibiotics in the family of cephalosporins - such as the drugs cefixime and ceftriaxone. This strain has been found nowhere else."

Having said that ...

There have been no deaths from the H041 "superbug strain," and yet William Smith, executive director of the National Coalition of STD, declared that it is an "emergency situation... As time moves on, it's getting more hazardous."

"The potential for disaster is great," he continued. "That's what's kind of scary about this, we are at lows in terms of infections [Read: one non-fatal infection], but this strain is a very tricky bug and we don't have anything medically to fight it right now." Smith appeared before congressional lawmakers to ask for $54 million to create new antibiotics to combat this "superstrain."

so ... as you read this ...

you may
consider yourself lucky,
very lucky,
that you are smart enough and well connected enough
to read about this
BEFORE
you met someone you didn't know has it ..!

Something to watch out for, in the brave new world we're creating for our children.

Once in a while there's news about this superbug strain, it worries me for 1 hour then i forget.
I'm wondering if these are cases infected by vaginal/anal intercourse or oral. Oral sex is an inefficient way of transmission for STDs.

Oral sex is an inefficient way of transmission for STDs.

where did you get that idea???

Plenty of STDs move by oral sex ... Herpes is the biggie ... HPV is another big issues for women although men are (somewhat unfortunately) not educated about it ... I believe even syphilis can infect a mouth ... a doctor can come up with a much longer list than I can.

Interesting side topic: why is HPV so actively talked down?  I mean ... transmission rates are typically quoted around 80% ... and yet there is NO testing for HPV for men ... that's right, you can do DNA screening of your HPV infection to specifically pin down which strains you are carrying, if you are a woman ... but doctors flat out tell you they won't test a man for HPV, only women.  Could it be because so many doctors are male..?  hmmmm

So no, don't go imagining oral sex is "safe sex".
Yes OK for the sake of argument if you have a choice between unprotected anal sex (for the sake of a comparison) and oral sex, unprotected anal sex has MUCH higher transmission rates for diseases.  But oral sex still carries a risk, and you should keep your spidey senses very much alert if you choose to take that risk.

Stay safe bros.

Oh for sure, sorry if I sounded like oral was 0 risk, it's not. However compared to unprotected anal/vaginal intercourse the rate of transmission of STDs is smaller and that's why most if us enjoy BBBJ and not BBFS.

yeah that's been hotly debated in the past, and certainly oral is less risky than bbfs

just sayin' it's good form in the forum to avoid any endorsement of risk taking ... knowing all along that the bros who don't care won't be reading here in the first place

The point in the context of this thread is that none of us can relax and assume the CURRENT level of risk equates the FUTURE level of risk.  It's not only possible, but likely, that in the future some buggie will evolve to take advantage of the oral sex we enjoy ... and that we'll be lucky if we get any kind of advance notice WHEN that happens ...

spidey sense active, all the time
