Certainly you're right that trans might appeal to bi guys (or gals!).  

I've talked to a few Trannys and the ones I met do seem to get a thrill out of seducing a guy, especially a first-timer.  Heck, if you're more than a few years old you've probably seen ads online offering a good time to "hetero men".  But you'll find all sorts, and it's not a good idea to take one criterion (trans) and assume it means another (e.g. 'successful').  Safer to assume there are successful ones and unsuccessful ones.  

Explain about a guy lying about being straight?  How is that a surprise?  

Honestly I'm not sure what there is to explain.  In our modern homophobic culture it pretty much conveys no information if a guy says he's straight - there's no way to tell if he's really straight or if he's a straight-acting bi or gay.  Different if a guy says he's gay or bi of course, as he has to risk rejection by coming out, it's more likely to be authentic.  Heck, trans gender guys like to call themselves a 'girl' or a 'special girl' ... obviously they're not using the label as a literal statement of gender.  Truth is most people attach themselves to an identity or an image, and yes they sometimes use definitions that are different from ours.  

I know some guys here like to partake - maybe they'll join in and shed insights that are beyond my experience.

I'm certainly curious to find more... but I've already made some research on the subject. I found out that there are different kinds of trans. One of such kinds is transvestite, who are mere men dressed as girls. Another kind is transgender, a term which is related to people whose sexual identity does not match traditionally accepted male and female genders; transgender also means a guy who is totally operated and has became (almost) a real girl. But, transsexual people (aka T-girls) are those who are stuck in the middle of the trans process, having boobs and penis. Transsexual people concept is what is more shocking to me, because transsexual have become a new and way more complex gender. Not to mention the so called Ladyboys from Thailand...
Having made these statements, I dare to say I would prefer meeting a "real girl" rather than a transvestite or a transsexual, because I think they must be more feminine... I heard that transvestites/transsexual are less feminine; I wouldn't like to fuck a chick with penis who behaves as a man, as there are real men for these purposes.. hahahaha

Regarding to the labelling problem, I sincerely can't understand the fact that people hide their sexual preferences as they were a dirty secret, because they are afraid of being labelled as "gay" or "bi", which is nothing to be ashamed of... Hiding your sexual preferences is just another way of losing the fight against homophobic attitudes that shouldn't exist, in my opinion.

I think men that have sex with trans women/men are straight. Since they seek a person that looks like a women. Now if the guy wants to get pounded in the ass then I would say bi. Either way I'm straight as a nail but not homophobic at all.

There is actually a study that was conducted (by a lead psychologist/neurologist) in collaboration with websites like PornHub that found, based on user watching history, that 90% of guys who watch transsvestites/ladyboys/shemales are actually straight, with the rest being bisexual. Straight guys may like girls with penises, gay guys actually prefer guys with vaginas.
