#1 Post at 10-2-2014 14:26  Profile P.M.  Font size: S M L Golden Chicken 3 movie - 金雞SSS During the Chinese New Year holidays I went to see the Golden Chicken 3 movie. Like the previous Golden Chicken movies, it talks about the changes of the HK wg/nightclub/escort industry that have taken place over the years and how the successful ones survived via hard work, keeping spirits up, loyalty-helping each other in the community, and always adapting. You know, the usual the-future-still-holds-promise'' story that is basis for most TV serials and movies over the Chinese New Year. Don't worry, English speakers because the English subtitles are of high-quality and really translate the story well. A movie that mixes the trials and tribulations of the sex industry with the work hard and you will succeed philosophy is something HK really does well. I cannot imagine Hollywood make a movie in the same vein. PS: This is not a cat3/4/adult movie, it is more of a R rated movie.

What were they thinking, what a waste of Donnie Yen.  Anyhow, I am intrigued about the portrayal of the HK wg/nightclub scene. Will have to check out this series as I never got initiated Lets have some fun

#3 Post at 10-2-2014 15:20  Profile P.M.  Font size: S M L Reply #2 ace2b26's post If you ask any local in HK who have seen Golden Chicken 3, most will say it was the funniest movie and best movie of all the movies that came out during the Chinese New Year. The movie had many A-list actors/actresses in it and unfortunately does make fun of some of the current events/trends that occurred in HK over the past year, so some inside jokes will be over your head. I agree, Monkey King was crap for adult viewers but fun for the kids.
