she sang good but voice lacked depth which I'm sure she'll develop with more singing ... Jessica Schantz of American Idol 2 years back had a better voice

She is okay, and now she will drop off the radar like the other 99% of reality show contestants.  Guy Sebastian and Shannon Noel are the only Australian acts to go on with it - surprisingly from the very first season of Australian Idol.  The rest are a distant memory.

Problem with these shows is they are full of people with no talent

Good ones??????? Ok I have probably watch a total of 1 hour of all these talent (less) shows and am yet to see or hear an act
that I would rate above mediocre (apart from Kelly Clarkson and that is only because I want to jump her bones).

I guess its just not my thing as so many people watch these shows but the acts are never any good.
I am not alone on this, a reporter asked the promoters of the big day out concert in NZ when we would see someone from these shows and his reply was any one with actual talent would never been on these shows. Best laugh I had had in a long time and renewed my faith in mankind.

Given that you have only watched about an hour of such shows, you are not really in the position to state whether any of them are any good. I think some have talent and actually sound bettet than the judges live, but record buyers are fickle. Anyway, that kiwi is probably a sheep jumping jerk off so I would take what he says with a grain of salt.   If that kiwi got his head out of his arse (and the sheep's), he would know why they come on - to get exposure in an extremely competitive industry.

shows I am not in a position to state they are all crap so I will limit it to every act I have seen has been crap

Like I said these shows are not my thing and it would be a strange world if everyone liked the same thing

They enjoy spending those 4-5 hours a week watching those programs, just as you enjoy spending 5-10 hours a week on these boards. It being a waste of time is purely subjective.

Probably an Aussie bogan then.
