What is it with hk punters and backpacks?

I have rarely visited walk ups but on the very few occasions I have (including today at James lee in TST), I have noticed that fellow visitors to the building are nearly always wearing a back pack. What do you guys carry with you? They look quite full. Or is it a method to block another punter from getting by in the very narrow corridors?

Maybe sex toys or presents. Just kidding. I really don't know.

Quite a number HG punters also carry a bag too, usually not as large as backpacks. Could be a DSLR.

I am always empty handed.

I see your concern. Like with coughing, there is cough etiquette. There should also be backpack etiquette, especially within close quarters, for example corridors and in public transportation.

From my own perspective...

If I'm coming from work then I tend to have a backpack or bag with me. The backpack holds my work-related things like laptop and lunchbox. I stop by before heading home.

If I'm a traveler/tourist then the backpack holds my travel-related things like my DSLR camera, water bottle, maps, etc.

In both cases it just happens to be on my body. If I visit a walkup in the evening, night or weekend then I don't have my backpack with because there's nothing I need to carry. It's really that simple.

Didn't we have this question about a year ago?

For me, at the weekends, going for a punt is a stand alone activity. It is not something that I would do on the way to somewhere, or after somewhere or fit into a packed schedule. So just not sure why anything apart from a wallet and phone would be needed.
Especially with walk ups, there is potentially a lot of walking around to do before getting the lady of choice. Why would anybody want to transport so much stuff around. Today it was hot, it looked like an uneccesary effort to have the back backs, and meant that the lifts were extra crowded.
For Monday to Friday, maybe more understandable as after work punt is most common.

I like to bring a camera, my own towel, and the soap I use at home.  Never had much luck with the camera here in vancouver though.  Oh and sometimes something special for the girl...

Well gotta carry the car battery in something lol. I usually have my own towel, nicer condoms if the girl is good. And maybe a slice of cake if I'm with a chick I'm tight with.

What is that something special for the girl :p

But on a serious note I have not seen too many punters with bags at all. If anything it's usually a briefcase or nothing at all as all the punters I have seen so far are basically above the age of 40 and a couple of young ones around mid 20ish? Not too sure but dslr seems to be a safe bet as even a lot of punters in the forum likes taking prof photos

Why I had my backpack

I was on vacation in HK and Macau for a week of fun. There was only two day where I had a fully packed backpack, on the day I went to a sauna ( stayed overnight there) and on my last day when I had to check out of my hotel by noon...so I had to carry my backpack around while punting.

A stand alone punt is probably not an option for some guys with family commitments.
