I am torn between Secretariat and current Australian sprinter who has won all her 24 races to date (including 14 group 1 wins) without the use of the whip. Absolutely freak.  She won Royal Ascot last year and will probably end her career there undefeated. Which horse gets your nod?

His second lastrace was renamed in his honour "Black Caviar Lightning Stakes" - the only race in living memory to be named after a horse that it is competing.  You can't make money on him however, as his odds are about 1/10 every time he rides. Octagonal was a brilliant horse, so too Kingston Town and Better Loosen Up.

If I were to choose one from that list, and it's hard, I would go for Frankel. No one got close to him and he looked like he would only get better if he stepped it up further in distance. Maybe the best ever is yet to come if they mate Frankel with Black Caviar...

When BC went over to England, racing officials were trying to organise a race between Frankel  (14-0-0) and Black Caviar (24-0-0) at a distance that not favour one horse over the other - how they would manage that I am not sure. If the two horses mate, it will be interesting what type of horse is produced.
