Saw a thread about the movie but nothing about the book that it's based on. I'm halfway through - an interesting read and arguably essential literature for the HK newbie.

It's given me an insight into the different ways that East and West view WGs and sex in general ... and now I know what a dragon drill is!

Dragon Drill?  Or Poison Dragon Drill??   That infamous poke-up-the-pooter that so many seek?

In short, that westerners are after maximising their sexual pleasure in the quickest time possible at the best price. Being a WG in Asia never used to have the same stigma attached to it as it does in the west as the sex part of the transaction was almost secondary to the flirting and interaction.

What surprised me is that western guys are the least preferred Johns (according to the book) vs local HK and other asian guys as westerners are seen as tight with money (they expect a service and to pay a fixed price for it) and can be mean if they don't like the look of the WG. The book claims that asian johns aren't as fussy about looks - are more interested in the WG being clever and polite etc.

That said, it goes on to say how things have been changing rapidly since foreign competition arrived undercutting the local WGs and offering more exotic services (anal, WS, rimming etc). And guys are demanding these services having seen them on the Internet.
