I know a WG here in Indonesia who came from China. I asked her what she would buy with all these money she earned, and her immediate reply was iphone 4s. That's it.

i heard about this from my brother living in China.   people are buying Iphones in the black market and willing to pay as much as $200 us dollar over the list price.
