Do working girls (despite their profession) make a contribution to the society?

Personally I think they do, in a way;

indirectly bringing the rate of rapes down .......................................

I seriously doubt that any of the members of this forum would turn to rape if they didn't have access to paid sex.

But to answer your question, just ask yourself how important sex with attractive young women is to men. I almost never see doctors, and have never needed a lawyer or plumber, but I do spend a lot of time and money on WG's because they make a huge contribution to my emotional/physical well-being. Think about the prospect of growing older and never again being able to embrace a young girl's body!

And WG's make their contribution to society not 'in spite of' their chosen trade, but because of it. You could eliminate a lot of professions from this world and I wouldn't even notice, but without WG's life would suck just that much more!

well as they say it's the world's oldest profession, so if it has no contribution it would have been eliminated a long time ago.

Also, you didn't specify good or bad contribution.

The darn thing is that I cannot understand why there are still many cases in Thailand;

Many would think that Thailand, being a paradise for men would not have a high rate; but unfortunately, this is not the case

Personally I don't believe the two are really related. Sad to say, I believe some  men, with certain personalities or
character faults will always force themselves on women. Others molest children. We live in a starnge world. To answer
bro Sulasna more directly, however, I absolutely belive that WGs make a contribution to society. I have never believed
MAN to be monogamous. That's a concept dreamed up by religious fanatics and these same people are the ones keeping us from having a peaceful world in general. Just look at how man people have been killed in the name of religion. As you can trell I am not religious, but if I had to choose something I would choose Buddhism or Taoism, who don't try to force their ideas on other people.

What I don't understand is why the world changed so much. When I was a kid in England, me and my friends would play out on the
streets until well after dark and nobody ever bothered us. Nowadays, no responsible parent would let their children play outside after
dark - or even in the daytime without supervision. And talking about religion, the very first adults I ever heard about molesting children
was my mother talking about some fathers from the local Catholic school. Nothing came of it and the priests just went away. Probably
to another school where they did the same things. And this was all decades before the huge scandals thet erupted about so many
other Cathilic priests molesting children and the Catholic Church just covered the whole thing up for years.

Kids have amusement parts.
Women have shopping malls
Adults have prostitutes.

I refuse to believe for one second that Hong Kong would let Gary Glitter enter. He's a menace and no

Absolutely.  Many of the ones working voluntarily are supporting more than themselves...possibley a family, maybe even an extended family--people who as a result have a better home, more food, maybe even an opportunity for better education, better prospects for the future.....be kind and tip well

Contribution is certainly made in one way or another. Whether the contribution is good or bad is subject to individual views and situations. For those of us using their services, they must contribute something to our lifes.

WGs satisfy our sexual cravings for young girls - as Mars says in post #2. But I'm not sure that qualifies as ... 'contributing
to society'. They may contribute to our individual wellbeing and we are part of this society. But it's still a stretch to
say that thay contribute to society because of that. And, let's not be naive - we all know that a part of their earnings
will end up in the hands of criminal gangs - just how does that contribute to society?    

And, if you really do believe these girls contribute to society, why do you keep your involvement with them a secret
from just about everyone you know. Isn't that hypocritical?    

Ah but you measure the utility of a profession by the service it renders. The contribution that doctors make is the healing of our bodies. What WGs do is satisfy our sexual needs. So the first question to ask is whether satisfying men sexually contributes to their well-being. To me the answer is obvious; WGs contribute more to my happiness that just about any other profession I can think of. And providing for the happiness of others is a valuable contribution to society.

If, however, by society you mean the abstract processes that make things work, then perhaps they don't make that great a contribution. But then how many of us do?

From a purely economic standpoint, any paid profession contributes to society, but that's so general as not to be very interesting.

In any case, I'm a selfish bastard, and these girls are vital to my health. They provide sexual healing. And that's good enough for me.

This world is made of supply and demand. In some ways, WGs satisfy the demand of their clients. Whether the profession is legal or moral or not can be debated, but the fact that they do service a specific demand in society is probably not in dispute.
