Hi...
I am coming to HK soon to shoot pix and video... Where can I get info on the legalities of shooting girls for adult content?  Would u approach these girls?  I want to avoid trouble with the papas...

I have some shoots lined up but with non pink trade ladies.  Just amateurs...

What is everyone's 2 cents?

I've only done non-nude photo shoots while in HK. I think how it happened was I searched some of the model sites for HK models, emailed a whole bunch of them... and one model actually knew enough English to email me back. So we set up a shoot, meet and do a shoot. She liked the photos and then tells me about these photo clubs... basically groups for amateur photographers and pretty girls who model because they love the attention. Unfortunately their forum was all in Chinese, but she helped me post a message there with my phone number. I can't read or write Chinese but can speak so I was able to talk to the club organizer when he called. They make trips about every few weeks for the whole group to do photo shoots at.

Anyway, that's with non-nude shoots which you'll probably experience the same way.



For shooting adult work, I haven't gotten into that. But I think that generally local HK girls would be too coy/shy to do it, but with mainland girls if you can pay I think they'd be up for almost anything. I don't know how long you'll be in HK for, but it'll probably be better to see some girls or frequent a location a few times so they know you're legit. I don't think they'd open up so quickly for a complete stranger unless you're offering a whole lot of money.

As for legalities... I really don't know about that one, but I'd say if you want to be really safe to FedEx the tapes/hard drives back home rather than carry them along on the flight.

Thank you for your post.  That was my idea - mainland girls vs HK girls...  I do have a friend there who may be able to help me sort that out.  I was hoping to visit enough girls via this board that 1-2 or more would be comfortable with me.
I am hoping enough mainland girls come to HK for work.  My girl there now is open to the shoot only because I will not market to Chinese...  I have shot several Chinese girls in US.  They are SO MUCH FUN to work with...

Thanks also for the tip about FedEx... I was wondering what I would do.  Not to keen on carrying stuff through airport security...etc.

If you think of anything else I would love to hear it.  Any useful leads that lead to shoots and I'll give a free membership to one of our sites...

Oh yeah, that's great if you know someone there who can introduce you to some more girls. I'm back in Cali right now so I'm pretty out of touch right now. I know for sure the next time I go back to HK I'll be trying to find more models.

Yeah FedEx is the way to go to send things back home. Not just photos, but DVDs you may buy or any items you'd like to bring home that you just don't want to deal with when going through customs.

Yeah I'll be sure to let you know if I hear anything new. I would say just continue to ask around. Or if you know Chinese or have a friend who can read/write Chinese to check out websites and forums. I'm pretty sure there are HK/Chinese versions of the model networking sites like OMP or ModelMayhem like we have here.
