Dear All,

Is this a busy time of year or something here?  Every time I call a number it either just rings out and no one answers or as soon as they answer and hear me speak they just hang up the phone (I only speak English). I tried a couple of TST hotels girls before xmas which worked out ok, but now seems a disaster! Anyone else having the same problems or is it just they dont like me??  

Any advice on this one?  Is it worth calling a few different girls (assume there are not that many Papas out there) or does that just piss them off if you keep calling? A lot of the TST Hotel girls are all available 12.00 - 02.00 for similar money so am I correct to assume they are all run by the same Papa?

Not sure what the etiquete for this is!

sorry mattscuba, i haven't had that experience cuz haven't been calling much lately...but here's something else that's strange which happened the last time I called....

some other bros have already reported this, but it freaked me out a little.

I get to the hotel and give papa a ring.   As I get to the hotel I notice two seperate clusters of uniform cops on the street.  One in the middle of the street and the other group at the intersection just waiting, passing the time of day.  The papa asks what I'm wearing, I was a bit thrown off by this...but replied the color of my jacket.  He says to wait and he'll call me back.  Hung up...then started to think why.  Then I notice the cops moving.  Is this a set up?  
Not going to stick around and find out...and I start walking.  Okay, I think I'm paranoid.

I was not expecting the guy to call me back but he did and tried a couple of times but I didn't pick up.  I had already find another 141 walkup.  So I'm in the blacklist of that papa now.

But why the hell are they asking for what colour you are wearing?

I've had the same experience, and I think it's because either the agent is in the lobby, or he has someone there checking out the client. Maybe they're afraid of a bust and want to see if you're a cop? - our maybe they just don't want some freak mauling the girl. Never seen police in the street tho.

Definitely not all managed by the same agent. The similar hours and fees are dictated by you - the consumer.

Agents hanging up on clients is due entirely to the language barrier, as some just can't deal with English. There are girls who don't want to service gwailos, but even that is often due to communication problems, and those girls are a minority. I speak Mandarin and have never been rejected by either an agent or a girl. So mattscuba, learn Mandarin - 20 yrs from now, everybody will speak it anyway.

Is it considered solicitation if you call the agent and wait at the lobby? Any legal expert out there on HK law? If you just ask for "Missy" from the internet without discussing details and the agent mentions a time and hotel name, can they actually charge you even if you are in the hotel lobby?? You might just be wearing the same color jacket. (assuming they can't locate your cellphone and match the number)

Interesting question.  But I highly doubt anything would stick if they nabbed me in the lobby on my way up to the room or if they were even waiting in the room.  First response would be something I think Jake preaches.....deny deny deny deny.  "what? where am I?  who am I, why do I have these funny clothes on?"

You can try, but I think you will have a hard time when they match your phone nunber. (and they do have your phone number if it is a setup, afterall the "papa/mama-san" did call you to confirm the transaction)

Solicitation is illegal, but that refers to the girl approaching a guy and offering sex for money.
It doesn't apply the other way around, i.e. offering to pay a girl for sex. I've never read of
a single case in HK of a prostitute's customer being charged with anything, except where
under-aged gals are involved. I think Marsupial's explanation is correct - the agent just wants
to check you out before sending you to the girl. Just try not to look too crazy

Thanks for the thoughts!  I am actually looking for somewhere that teaches Mandarin, I can speak Thai and Japanese already but that doesnt seem to help me here !

Did actually have more success yesterday, called a very helpful papa with fluent english...he did the old "bait and switch" but the end result was actually better than the original, so I guess the joke is on him really.
