2011 NBA Second Season

Didn't see a posting for the playoffs

Lots of interesting stoy lines:

Out West, can the grey beard Spurs make another run?
Lakers have looked dominant only through some stretches the reg season, will this be the 4th 3-peat team for Jackson?

Out East, young upstart Bulls, are they for real?
Shaq got one left with the Big 3 for the Celtics?
The great Miami experiment, can they really get it together against the better teams, now that it's playoff time?

I think this may be the most wide open playoff in a while, with no clear cut favorite.

Eastern conference 2nd round is going to be EPIC.  Potential matchup Boston vs. Miami!  Can't wait!  I'm not a fan of either team, and normally can't stand any team from Boston, but the way Le-douche handled his "Decision", I hope the Heat crash and burn against the Celtics.  The shit they are going to take if that happens would be awesome   Celtics would be in better shape if they didn't stupidly trade away Perkins.

In the West, I'm rooting for the Lakers, but they have been struggling of late.  I think the Thunder could give them a run.  They have the toughness inside with Perkins now.  Spurs are just old.

W - 1st round:
Spurs, Thunder, Lakers, and goin with an upset of Blazers over Mavs.

E - 1st round:
Bulls, Magic (although ATL always seems to surprise during the playoffs), Miami and Boston.

Definitely don't see the Spurs getting past the 2nd round though. Miami and Boston will be interesting. West Finals: Thunder & Lakers, East Finals: Bulls and Celtics.

I honestly think Shaq is a non-factor. Trading away Perkins was the beginning of the end for Boston. I'm hoping Boston has a little more gas to get by the Heat, but don't see them beating the Bulls.
I've been a lifelong Lakers fan, so definitely hoping for their 3peat. Not too concerned with their losing streak heading into the playoffs. Definitely looking forward to a Thunder & Lakers series if it comes to it.

Did you see the Bulls vs Pacers, Game 1 earlier today?  Derrick Rose is LEGIT.  Granted the Bulls were playing the lowly Pacers, it was one hell of a comeback by the Rose led squad.  That kid has serious talent.  I'll be rooting for them or Orlando (gotta show some love for my former Warriors!) to come out of the East.

I'm not really sure who I want to win out West.  I don't think I'll care again until the Warriors return to the postseason.

Most definitely didn't expect the Pacers to play as well as they did today. Still, after watching the game, only solidifies my belief that the Bulls will be the ones coming out of the East.

If the Warriors can get some help for Ellis, it might be very soon that we see them in the playoffs!

That Bulls game last nite was epic. Rose carried that team on his back for that win. I really thought the pacers had it early in the fourth. Hope the bulls go far. As long as King Sellout and the Heat don't win it all it should be an awesome playoffs.

I am really happpy to see that Chicago is back but I just fear that Rose will be like James at Cleveland.
For sure he has done a great season and I wish him to be the MVP of the regular season.
But will all the effort and his playing style, he may not stand the rythm of the playoffs.
I hope he can so the Bulls can be at the standing that they should be.

It's all strategy for the Lakers. Losing the first means they can close out the series at home after winning the next 4

GOD what a game between Boston and the Knicks. Definitely should be the most exciting first round series in both the East and West.
I still think Boston will pull it out in the end, but hopefully it'll be a pretty competitive series.

I'm gonna go unconventional here and say it'll be Thunder vs Heat in the finals. I've been quite amazed by how the Thunder has gone from a dead franchise, to new but still shitty franchise, to a solid playoff contender in a few short years. Still under the radar because they're at a small city, but Durant and Westbrook are as legit as they get.

The Lakers is puting less and less effort because they know how to keep their stamina.
No need to rush just need to arrive on time.

Yeah man these knicks are painful to watch. True heart by Melo though coming through with STAT out. My question is why the heck is Jared Jeffries even on the floor on the last offensive play of the game? Should've been Turiaf getting that last pass from Melo cause at least he would've had the mentality to attack the rim.

It breaks my heart because i know the knicks arent going to win... Call me a pessimist but i am just stating the truth. This goes for all New York sports teams. All show butno go. They can never pull through to surprise everyone. I want these knicks to at LEAST win 2 games...

Well, at least the knicks are in a way better spot than 2 years ago.
While I don't see them making it out of the East, Boston was probably the best matchup you could hope for to give them a chance at the second round.

Hopefully Stoudamire and Billups can get back in the series (although I hear its not looking good for Stoudamire) and give Boston a run.
Like you said, these games are heartbreakers, but it could have just as easily been the Knicks up 2-0 now.

I'll second this.

Ibaka and Perkins is a tough tough front court and although they give about 2-3 inches to the Laker bigs, their toughness and D I think makes up for it.

A Westbrooke vs Rose final would also be amazing and IMO, just as likely as as thunder/heat.

I just dont see Boston going far this year without perks... but who knows... they proved everyone wrong last year so can never really count them out.
