Pubic shaving tips for guys?

I've been seriously thinking about shaving my own pubic hair recently.  I tried it once before a few years ago, but got really bad results including rashes and irritations.  I willing to try it again because it looks cleaner, it feels cleaner, and it makes my LB look bigger

Recently I've seen a product called the Philips Bodygroom (I hope I'm allowed to post the product name) on the web but I don't think it's available in HK.  Has anyone ever tried it?  Does anyone have any better methods or tips on shaving?  I want to include the groin area, shaft, balls, and rim if possible.

Important that you take bath first. If possible, hot shower.

I never shaved it before, i gave it a trim to make it shorter but then I find that it makes the pubic hair spiky when it is short(doesn't feel good)......leaving it natural feels better

trimming is more comfortable than shaving (growing back process wise)
after shaving the area does look cleaner and feel very smooth however when the time comes and the pubic hair decides to do some growing
some itching and discomfort will be present as well. ingrown hair are a bitch they often make a bump on your skin or redness making you look like have some kind of std (i got that comment once from my ex)
i usually trim to a very short lenth cuz i like to keep my stuff clean and neat looking but it takes more time and a bit of neck pain afterwards (or is that me only)
hk_justlove's link is some great info i find

This has been discussed quite a few times before.  I've got a philips bodygroom.  I recommend you try it out...it works okay, but I've never tried any other manscaping products so I don't have anything to compare it to.

Thanks for the responses.  I've also been reading up on the past threads given by This_is_my_vice where there's a lot of good info too.  Tonight i gave myself a trim.  I'm still hesitant on using the razor especially on my balls and rim.  I think I need to get some good shaving cream and moisturizer before I attempt that!

try electric shaver and trim off about 3/4 so its neat, that might prevent irritation, works...most of the time

use shaving gel or cream as it cause less itchyness when the blade runs across your skin, but then when punting the person may feel not too comfortable as those short hairs that start to grow will poke at them.

are u glade u not a girl and need those bikini waxing   ouch it will hurt wax on and wax off ooouuucchhhhh

I soak in a very warm to hot bath (I prefer them) for a good 10 minutes, then I go at it with a fresh Gilette razor and (usually) Neutrogena liquid soap). I don't do it every day, maybe every week-10 days, or on the first day of a punting trip (usually DE or ES).

I've been doing this for 15 years now, my batting average for extras increased dramatically, yes, it does make your johnson look bigger, but it gives the girls a big comfort level when they see no hair, and thus everything (ie, if you have a wart, a vesicle, something truly nasty etc.).

I've nicked myself once, on the scrotum, I'm usually very careful there, but I was in a hurry that day, and paid for my carelessness. It healed in les than 48 hours anyway.
