I wonder if my experience is similar to the rest of my 141 Bros.

I am gonna start by first praying this thread does not turn into some racist bullshit.., as that is not my intent and I am as anti-racist as it is possible to be.  You senior Bro's might have seen such threads before and can predict where it will head - if you see the danger signs go ahead and shut it down quickly.

So, with that that said:  

Before moving to Asia (I've moved around the world a lot, but in Asia for only about 4 years) I was never specifically attracted to Asian girls.  I was attracted to ALL pretty girls, regadless of race..., but generally stuck to caucasian (like me) chicks just because I figured we would have more in common and therefore I'd have a better chance at scoring with them.

Since coming to HK, however, I scarecly even look at Western women anymore.  Five Western beauties could be standing in an LKF bar and I'll be twisting to look behind them at the Chinese or Filipina girls down the lane.  I have even found myself blowing off a hot western chick most men would rate as a solid 8.5 or 9 who was trying to talk with me so I could instead chat-up a chinese girl who might have been a 7 in good lighting.  I just have little sexual/romantic interest in western chicks anymore.  I also find the most beautiful Asian girls are simply head-and-shoulders more beautiful than the most beaitiful western girls.  Just a preferance I have acquired, I suppose.

Has this happened to other Gweilo's who've moved here?

I also wonder, do my Chinese or Indian or SEAsian Bro's have the opposite attraction?  Are you guys hot on the western chicks more than those from your home country (or region)?

Actually this is all the too common affliction known as Yellow fever. Nothing to be alarmed about and its something that a lot of my Western friends got really sick with - some of them a near death experiece when their SO figured out what REALLY was the matter with her man. LOL!

All I can say is - be careful - be very careful as you're now in rather unfamiliar territory on your own....seeing as most of your past experiences etc had been with females of your own race.  Like it or not, there ARE differences - whether language, cultural, tastes or even just d'ruthers in different races.

I've always preferred brunettes to blondes. There is a shape of face, cheek bones, chin, brow that I am specifically attracted to. I go crazy when I see bow shaped lips and when they are deep red in color I'm "toast". I absolutely love exotic eyes and I am naturally more attracted to "sweet" feminine women than the masculine athletic type.

Occasionally I find what I describe above in a Latina woman, Mediteranian, and only rarely Caucasian. On the other hand... that description also describes many Asian woman. For me it's not a race issue, it's a specific "look" I'm really into and the higher probability of finding that look in Asia vs other places.

This topic, or some derivative of it, has been discussed numerous times.  Lots of white guys are afflicted with yellow-fever, it's nothing new!  I'm sure lots of Asian guys also love white chicks (you can count me among those, especially recently ) - but haven't heard of any white-fever, lol!  Now if only white girls were attracted to asian guys more... (also discussed ad nauseam).  

This intense attraction to the Asian girls in Asia doesn't just affect the gweilos, it also affects the overseas-born/overseas grew-up asians too. Surprised?

Not really...growing up in the west, every guy gets brainwashed/trained to like a particular standard of beauty as propagated by media and mainstream culture. So for example, many overseas-born asian guys grew up thinking an attractive asian girl is one that looks like the numerous TV news announcers or Lucy Liu. Any asian girl that doesn't look like these ppl are considered too FOB (fresh off the boat).

Then these guys come to Asia like you did and have learned what is the traditional standard of beauty and it is not the Lucy Liu standard.  And all those girls they thought were too fob-by when over in the West are actually quite beautiful when they are dressed in fashion/makeup that were designed for the Asian body/build...and they beat themselves over this revelation as they could have settled down with one of those back at home had they known as now most of these fobby girls tend to settled down early.

And ironically these overseas asians become trapped in Asia by their revelations. There are so many beauties here but because of the cultural/educational/language differences, it is really difficult to find the one they have much in common with. Though the asians back home in the west have the common upbringing these guys so desired, but these overseas asian girls will conform to western standard of asian beauty (mediocre) or are fat like the mainstream...So these guys (asian, caucasian, black, everyone) remain in Asia looking for that Ideal Asian Girl = asia standard of beauty + overseas education/living experience.

Let me tell you from personal experience that ideal asian girl is so damn hard to find. So for you young guys still in school, take another look at those girls who have that fobby look and buy her fashion/cosmetics from Asia and watch a butterfly emerge. For the rest of us, we cannot be preying on uni girls and will have to contend with our search in Asia.

as an asian myself............I still find asian the most attractive...at times I would be attracted to super super hot white chicks.....but only the super hot ones!

Yeah, I've certainly heard the term "Asian fever" or "yellow fever" before.  It would seem to be a scientifically verifiable phenomenon:  I am exhibit A as an example of someone totally changing their inherent preferences once coming here.

Lately, or the last couple years, I find myself being quite put off by the personalities of many western women, it doesn't matter if they are asian, black, white, mexican, indian, etc.....   Whenever I encounter them, which is quite often, they tend to be loud, obnoxious and arrogant .  I find this type of personality trait to be a bit over the top, many of these western women carry themselves like wannabe reality tv stars A good amount of westerners living in asia carry a bit of a superiority complex, to which I admit, I practice this behavior myself here and there, but I do acknowledge that Im not always correct with my ways and the western ethos is not always right.  

With that said, jesus christ, most of the Chinese girls in L.A are fugly.  I haven't met them all, but the 20 years of my life I spent living in Los Angeles ( when I was younger ), there were few and far in between that was good looking.  Lisa Ling is considered to be a beautiful chinese girl in the west... that says it all.  Most of the girls I dated in L.A were either hispanic/latin/black/filipina, not because i didn't want a Chinese girl, but it was hard to find one that I was attracted to.  This might partly be due to me being dooped by the western media machine into liking a certain " image " and definition of " beauty ", maybe not since my first play gf at the age of 7 was puerto rican lol.  

My friends that visit me here in China are always blown away by the amount of drop dead gorgeous Chinese girls in the clubs, and they all say the same thing, " these type of chinese girls do not exist in l.a "   The fact is, Asian girls in Asia are far prettier and better looking then the ones in the west, simply because the talent pool is much much deeper   Yellow fever doesn't only effect gweilos, its bit myself on the ass as well.

Yep, I feel feverish every time i step into wanchai on sunday. I have little to no interest in western women. In fact, when I went to a strip bar in my home country, the place was filled with blondes, and a couple of asian women (including a Thai from chiang mai). Guess which one I chose? It wasn't really a conscious decision - I wasn't deliberately looking for an asian girl. It was just that she was the only one who I had any attraction to.

Ive had the fever for years, no cure.  IMHO with asian women are the most beautiful ,dunno what it is .

Yep, put me in the same boat. Its exotic, different, new, exciting, whatever it is, it is. And by the same token, take one of these girls to L.A. force feed them Big Macs, french fries and Nancy Pelosi and they lose it.

I feel the same way. I find that many western women want it all (those that are college educated at least): an ambitious career that competes with men as well as all the benefits of traditional women. For the longest time, I actively pursued westernized Asian women because I thought that we would have more in common, but now I realize that they want me to buy them drinks, take my job, and play hard to get at the same time.

So, it would seem, from listening to the Asian Bros here,  that it is not so much "race" as it is "westernization".  My guess is you mean the western style of "feminism" that is turning you off.  Fair enough!  

For me, I suppose it is both.  For pure physical beauty I don't think I can even fairly compare anymore - the faces, eyes, hair, bodies of Asian girls from all over (SEA, China/HK/Japan, etc) just rock my world.  And then you spend a nite with them!!  Sunk!!  Just hot, pleasant, sexy, sexual, undemanding, pleasing, giving, funny, warm, and affectionate women!  Ummm, could there be a better woman?

For me, most caucasian women are too loud and over the top. I think scootermonger described them best. I prefer the gentleness and softly softly characteristics of most asian women, but like every thing else, there are always exceptions to both sides. A lot of asian women, i am beginning to see, start to adopt the feministic, strong characteristics of caucasians.
