Help me find.......................

Aside from my work and the time I want to take out to get my rocks off I also need to locate a few things and exhaustive internet searching hasnt revealed a whole lot to me.

Maybe you guys can help.

Is there  a motorcycle accessory superstore in HK or  place that has a big range of motorcycle gear?

I am also looking for a shop or an area where I can find various examples of those small pOV video cameras that fit to bikes and cars and helmets etc. I wish to buy a couple of different brands to try out.

When I get to Hk I will buy a simcard from Pccw or Smartone. Their voive only package seems pretty good.
Should I get a wireless ( wifi) service too ?

What sort of continuity will I get in Hong Kong. Will it be sufficient to keep the maps going on the phone??

thanks in advance..

uhhh ok. pressed for time atm, going to try to give you the most helpful short answer I can. There are quite a number of shops that sell motorcycle gear, Mong Kok Kwong Wah Street and Kowloon City are some I can think of. You will be able to find some protective gear, hardware, etc. But if you are just looking for cameras, maybe you can consider going to some tech/comp shops in MK or Wanchai and you should be able to find brand-less or branded but decent quality ones. Alteratively, you can design your own setup, create your own mount, or do whatever. I suggest you do some research into this if you havent already. Or, just go to Oregon Scientific and get their new model, and I believe it mounts onto full face moto helmets.

Yes, you are correct. You can get a simcard that has internet access but would be through 3G or HSDPA service. Some cards may include WIFI service for an additional fee. But you can access it only if your device has WIFI capabilities. Although HK, is WIFI in many locations this does not  mean you can get continual service by switching through access points, especially if you were to go at the speed of a motor vehicle. I don't believe anywhere in this world has this sort of technology yet, although it is certainly possible. Software practically hasnt been worked out yet. However, 3g or HSDPA can give you continual service to access maps. Assisted GPS should not be a problem. HK is quite good in this respect.

P.S. I hope you have a bike in HK, because you can't rent one.
Good luck have fun, will check back on you if you have any further questions.

I already have a Vio Pov camera but I would like to find some with better quality footage so i thought I might pick up a few different types while I am there if the price is right and by all indications the price will be far less than what i will pay here in Australia.
