Moderator please let me know if this is too detailed information to discuss about hotels.

I had a weird encounter today when trying to find the room of Jordan (TST ad) HG Ar Wun (阿韻) in Old SD Hotel. The agent was telling me on the phone and by SMS to go to 11th floor and room D. But I walked the 11th floor from end to end, and all rooms are numbered like in any hotel. And I've visited girls in this hotel before, in regularly numbered rooms.

Outside the hotel, I could not understand the instructions the agent was trying to say to me. All I could understand was the floor number. He then sent me a text message with instructions to go to "11th floor C room". There was no C room, so I sent a text message back. Agent calls me back, and after a while tells me to go to room in that same floor with a regular number. I go in and it's a B&S. The girl is asking if she's ok, but I tell no wrong girl, and show her the 141 advertisement of 阿韻. She calls back agent, and gives her phone to me.

The agent tries a few minutes to explain to me to go to room D. There is no misunderstanding about the letters, as he spells the alphabets out: "D, like A, B, C, D." And asks a little frustrated if I understand English. I reply that yes, I understand the D, but I don't understand where such a room is. That I've walked the corridor from end to end and all rooms have three numbers on them, like 111, 112. He says something about it being a VIP room, and talks of upstairs. I try to ask whether I am supposed to climb some stairs from 11th floor to that room, but communication in English does not go that far.

In the end I concede that I just cannot understand the instructions to this "room D", hand the phone back to the girl, and apologize that I don't understand what the agent is trying to say which she repeats back to him ("tīng bù dǒng", my most often used words with girls). Make my way out of the hotel.

When outside I get another SMS from the agent asking if I find it, so I reply politely in length that I did not as I cannot understand the instructions and have already left the hotel. I also suggest that he can SMS me if they have her working another day in a room with regular numbers, and I'll come back to check her out. He replies back politely "May be we and you communicate not rech the designated position, sorry, we'll try our best, after I'm terribly sorry".

So, has anyone ever been to such a room with letters? It's confusing to know there are some mystery rooms in a HG hotel that I do not know about. And it was a shame I could not find her, as based on DB photos she's totally MCOT. Those thighs look super firm and not Photoshopped as you can see the muscles.

yup. last time i tried On Kei (one of Siklong's favorites before), i was sent to OSD and given letters. there are apparently 2 banks of elevators, and the other bank will lead to rooms like 4A, 4B, 4C etc.

i had to ask a housekeeping lady for the info, i was in the other wing of the building.

Do you remember if the elevators to letters-room wing were close to the regular elevators that you walk into when entering the hotel main entrance from the street? Are they both accessible from the hotel lobby, or did you have to walk to a different wing/building?

If I remember correctly (several years ago) ...

Facing OSD, you would enter the recessed doors to the back of the car park for the numeric rooms - these doors aren't positioned at the street, but set back to allow for automobile access.  Once inside the doors you would take a left to access the elevators.

Facing OSD, you would enter a street (sidewalk) level door to the left of the car park and restaurant for the alphanumeric room numbers.  You can plainly see this entrance using Google street view.  Once inside this door, you would take a right to the elevator.

There are definitely two separate elevator systems handling this hotel.

After studying at length with Google Maps Street View, now I think I've got it. Thank you for the detailed explanation.

I had never noticed that left side door at sidewalk and always just walked to the doors within the car park, and assumed this is the one and only hotel and entrance.

This must have confused some other punters as well. I for sure was baffled when in the numeric floors and told to walk in to room D.

   Now I know who our bros are if I see anyone wondering around aimlessly outside the hotel !  

I'm amazed that from time to time I'm still mentioned in this forum even though I haven't reported for months. I'm quite touched and would like to take this opportunity to wish all bros a great Xmas!.
I seem to recall that the rooms with the alphabets instead of numbers are in the separate wing with the red canopy outside. In fact the agents always say "hung sik pung" in Cantonese to me, but I can imagine the confusion.
BTW I have heard that my all-time fave Ar Fan Tat has returned from her province and is seeing selected clients in a flat in Shenzhen.
Do any of you know about this and how I might be able to find her? The old number I had for doesn't function anymore. I think she changed her number after the tiff we had which I actually thought we had patched up. It would be a nice Xmas present to tangle with her long legs again!

Disco and Siklong are exactly correct. Entrance for the 'letter' wing is next to the the (bigger) one for numbered rooms. Has been a while since I have been to OSD, but I recall the the letter/VIP rooms defo being bigger but not always nicer (felt older and all of them seemed to be smoking).

last time i was at this place was in winter and it was pretty cold back then. i was seeing the famous tammy. the thing about this place is i like it better than the other one. for two reasons. one this place is closer to the mongering action and they don't pester you about your id for any reason. i just went there and saw two elevators and took the one on the left and that was that.
