本屆性文化節，組委會為增加文化含金量，除舉行多場高端學術活動進行“預熱”外，在展會重頭戲、古代性文化展覽環節推陳出新，首次邀請我國台灣地區性學研究者展示收藏的“三寸金蓮”真品，向觀眾介紹中國古代纏足文化。
不過，對這46件來自海峽兩岸的“三寸金蓮”真品以及“纏足快感論”，觀眾並不買賬。“看了很難受！”在一張纏足女性腳部特寫照片面前，從佛山趕來觀看的胡東老伯連連搖頭。受訪的多名女觀眾則批評展覽忽視“女性感受”。
針對這場爭議，性文化節主辦方、廣東省性學會副會長朱嘉銘教授昨天表示，“纏足增加性快感論”屬於一家之言，不代表主辦方的觀點。“纏足對女性是一種殘害，這是毫無疑問的。”朱嘉銘說，纏足最早是南唐後主李煜的宮妃為取悅帝王而發明的，也迎合了男性的畸形審美。
