Was going through some reports in the Chat Section and have noticed the thread entitled "Regards to Chongqing Girls". It still leaves the question unanswered on why some Chongqing women are the most beautiful in China.

Tonight I found out the exact reason. Anyone care to speculate?

because they love spicy food therefore they have smooth skin and better body size? Also because the living style in there is more relax therefore they have more time to have sex?

I agree, Chongqing girls are fabulous.
I love Sichuan girls on the whole!
Maybe fit through living in the mountains?

So far no correct answer. I shall get back with what I was told at lunch today before the weekend. It was a revelation to me and it's official, not one of those BS trick answers. Think someone would figure it out before the weekend though.

I was told that they are regarded as being the most beautiful women in China because of their luminous pale skin, which is due to the regions year round overcast conditions. Certainly I never saw the sun during the short time I was there a few years back.

Very intriguing! Does it have anything to do with genetics, i.e. an oddity or perhaps a mixing of some other genes some time ago? I'm definitely checking in on this thread again!

You're getting warmer. I said it was official because this was from a senior Govt official based in Chonqing. When I posted this question to him, I never expected such candor.

I've seen studies that show beauty = a high degree of genetic diversity.  So I will stay on that path that something brought a high degree of genetic diversity to the area,possibly the Mongol siege in 1242.  I'm sure they had many slaves traveling with them and there was a lot of mixing of the gene pool over a 30 year period.

CQ and Sichuan is the same. CQ used to part of Sichuan.
CQ gals usually have soft skin with natural beauty, just like the Sichuan gals.
I believe is the mountains and jungles where they  used to live. Lots of natural exercise and consumption of unpollutted foods.

Used to have a CQ FB and now a Sichuan GF, so I gotta agreed.

Anyway, to each own...but I must add Dongbei (more elegant)/Hunan (though more village looking) as well, because I love tall and busty gals.

I can't think of any other possibilities other than those that have already been suggested (food, genetics, environment). I can't wait to know the answer though. AlthoughI have to say that there some girls from Hubei, Dongbei, and Zhejiang are also quite stunning.

Well if one knows a little bit of Chinese culture/history, Chongqing was never traditionally mentioned as the place for beautiful women.  I think the fame of beautiful women coming from Chongqing is a recent (historically) event that may be traced to the time when the KMT (governing party of China before 1949) had to move the national capital from Nanjing in 1937 away from the invading Japanese incursion to the temporary site, Chongqing until the war's end at 1945.  

You can imagine who went to Chongqing and the rest of Sichuan.  These people came from all over China including HK, fleeing from the Japanese invaders.  They were all the government officials, wealthy elites, business elites, cultural elites, and academic elites and entourage.  What did most of these elites (mostly male) like to do....?  

They liked to visit salons and brothels and keep mistresses and concubines.  When I was growing up I heard stories about how my uncles and grandfather would meet up in the high-end brothels (like today's hostess ktvs) or nightclubs to network and do business in the company of beautiful women.  It was considered normal and not immoral.  

So I can only surmise that these elites naturally brought along their beautiful women (dancing girls, glamorous singers, mistresses, concubines, high-end hookers, hostesses, etc) and their women's entourage (female assistants, beauticians, spa ladies, maids, cooks, etc) from Canton, Shanghai, Peking, Suzhou, Nanjing, Hong Kong, and other rich neighborhoods to the temporary wartime capital of Chongqing to keep them company as they wait for the war's end so they can go home.   

When the communists took over in 1949, many people could not get out of China especially somewhere like Sichuan which is landlocked.  Many of the wealthy left because they had the means and money but of of course they couldn't take their mistresses or the rest of the night girls as I can imagine the no. 1 wife objecting.  So these women who followed the money and men to Chongqing couldn't leave and had to stay there raise families that had those beautiful babies that grew up to be the women you see now.  

In conclusion, it is a combination of an artificial concentration of the genetics of the most beautiful women from all over of China, great weather, clean water, and spicy food that makes that Chongqing beauty.  


On a side note, the same is sometimes said about Singapore.  Singapore has many attractive women because it is said that most of the original Chinese female settlers of Singapore came from the night trade, ie prostitution, dancing girls, night club, etc. to entertain the many Chinese male labourers in the 19th century and early 20th century.

You are one of the very few people that I've ever heard describe Singaporean Chinese women as beautiful.

Most of my friends there visit Manila, Thailand, Macau, and HK and gape at all the girls on the street.

They typically give the same answer, that something is wrong with the water in Singapore.

I think a round of CQ gals pics are in order, for research purposes of course .

Just curious, if the rule of market would follow this, would it be correct to say that Chongqing are higher priced than other chinese girls? I havent tried one yet but are they really worth it? lolz.... and how would you know where they're from? Can you like ask papasan "I want Chongqing girl now!"?

Yes, doghead is spot on.

Chongqing, before it became the capital of China only had about 200,000 inhabitants and all the KMT generals and wealthiest businessmen in China moved there during the mid 30's and back then, generals and businessmen had a harem of the best looking women in China. When they fled for Taiwan, the KMT organized the exodus and each tycoon and senior KMT officers were only allowed to bring their first wife, leaving along the youngest and most beautiful girls and with them their beautiful children. There were many prominent businessmen and generals that had up to 30 wives and they were deserted in Chongqing. The population of Chongqing grew from 200,000 in 1928 to over 4 million by the time the KMT fled to Taiwan.

I was informed about this fact the other day by a Government official from Chongqing. Doghead also has a point about Singapore but then Chongqing is more significant because the population grew by 20 times in a short span of time and were the most prominent and beautiful people in China at the time.

So know you know about the myth of Chongqing women. Interesting fact which has been rarely discussed.

Come on, this really doesn't add up! First the whole Sichuan area has the reputation for hot women and CQ got its reputation because it was part of it, not the other way round. In fact the Chengdu area is more renowned for hot women because it is generally considered as a place of good fengsui.

Secondly, and this the more important point. As you said, CQ's population growth from 200,000 to over 4 million in a matter of few years. How on earth did several thousands beautiful mistresses and concubines multiply to a few millions???? Some kind of genetics experiment conducted by the KMT?

That's orignal. Never knew good fengshui can materialize millions of good looking women.

Fascinating and it makes sense. I feel sorry for those exiled to Taiwan. Leaving behind 30 beautiful mistresses and being stuck with an old nagging wife.  What is the reputation for Taiwanese beauty?
