changing the date on digital photos

long time everyone!!!

i want to ask you guys, if its possible to change the date stamp on digital photos once its been taken.

say it was taken on 1/01/2009 at 10 pm. could i change it to another date and time to make it look it hadnt been taken on that day??

Indeed, a long time no hear !

I asked this question before and remember the reply to be something like one can use PS
to filter out the layer of the date ... but I've never tried to do this myself !

long time indeed twice, nice to see u are still active here.

basically, i was looking at my gf's onlne photo album and noticed some pics taken on a night she was meant to be at home sleeping but it appears she was out partying.

she claims her friend mujst have changed the date cos it wasnt taken on that night but a while back.

i do think she is bullshitting, but i wonder why she  wants to keep this night out so secretive. hmmmmmmm

the other possibility is that the date on the camera was set wrong... that's possible.

having said that, easy enough to change the date in PS.

You need to edit the EXIF embedded file inside your pictures.

Which stores a hell of a lot of info!

Iphones are scary in this regard because they even embedd the GPS coordinates into photos.
