US Airways Grand Slam Promo (US Residents Only?)

US Airways, whom we refer to as useless (or I refer to as banned), because they're just incompetent, frequently comes up with interesting mileage promos-which you can use on otherStar Alliance carriers. See, as incompetent they are to fly, they're awesome not to fly .

Anyway...36 transactions with their partners (some restrictions apply) gets you 100K miles, 90 of which will get you business class on your favorite *A carrier to Hong Kong or a couple of other Asian cities from the West Coast US or Westcoast Canada ( for Canadians, "WC" is one word lol). I know you can do YVR-HKK on AC in business.

Only issue is that it might be for US , or North American, residents only. If you live in an Asian country...the program is usually different. At least it is with DL and other carriers.

Anyway, here's the link: http://shopping.usairways.com/pr ... _EMM_00705_10262009

I think US air and United are in the same class very low and to be avoided if possible. I always fly continental buisness class HK to NY and thier service is good but now they are merging with United so one of two things can happen 1) continental service will go down or 2) United will get better. I hope its 2 and United improves

I'm a CO Platinum with over 600K program miles and have been PL almost continuously since 2000. I won't be PL next year. since the new CEO took over, they want to be like UA. Why is anyone's guess, but the "merger" is really a thinly disguised takeover. The only thing that's staying UA is the name, because it has greater worldwide recognition than CO.

DL matched my PL card, ATL sucks as an airport, but SLC rocks if you need connections and they have nonstops (albeit all redeyes to Fla. outbound) from LA to MSY, TPA, FLL, all places I go to. They're a better fit. *A is the better program, no doubt, but DL has treated me great so far. Probably won't make PL this year, AU is possible though.

I was always told to fly Cathay or Singapore from US back to HK. I think their prices are pretty reasonable and their services aren't bad either? They usually have younger flight attendants than the American airlines. US companies can't use age to discriminate but companies from other countries can?  =0 LOL

I have flown cathay and Singapore HK to US and they both have great service and beautiful flight attendants. The only problem is I fly to east coast and the Singapore flight is direct west coast only. Cathay is direct to NY but the cost more than Continental.

Yea, I am from west coast and probably that's why. Have you had any luck hitting on the flight attendants of Cathay or Singapore? =D

No, I have never tried hitting on the flight attendants. I am sure some of them can be had if you had the time. One of them told me how much she liked dancing and how her and her friends go out togeather dancing in HK when they have a layover but I didn't persue it. Good luck

Yes, it is true that many of them were <25yo a long time ago.

Have fun, CGP
