#3 Post at 2-9-2010 14:44  Profile P.M.  Font size: S M L actually many other countries in the world are doing the same thing (ie Italy), so it is quite common that you need to get register first before you get a no name sim card. but the big question now is because you can get loads of sensitive info from ID#, so the issue is how do they protect and store the information. Hope this policy will not come to HK though....

I think the international sims will defeat this though, on my big trip several other riders had an international sim where it was based in romania, it would give you coverage everywhere but India you had to load it with credit online though. I read the article today in the newspaper and was a bit surprised when I thought about it that China hasn't already done this. Many countries in Europe like the above poster said already do this. I too hope it doesn't come to HK, but i'm sure it will in time.
