thinking of leaving HK

I have a question

I am thinking of changing jobs and leaving HK to go back to US. I have been here 5 years and the mongering is the least expensive with the pretiest girls. It is so easy to find a WG here and in mainland.

My question is if I leave for US where the mongering is hard to come by and very expensive depending on where you live. Will I have withdrawl pains and de depressed. Has anyone been in this type situation? I am thinking about staying just because of the mongering.

dude, change jobs based on where you will have the biggest opportunity for growth, not based on mongering experience.

if the US can give you a great job with much higher pay, why not? you can always fly back to HK for mongering.

good jobs are hard to come by, whereas mongering in HK will always be around.

g'luck!

I gotta say you're going from one of the best places for mongering to one of the worst - USA seems to be improving a little, but be ready for police stings, driving around looking for SW's and some seriously scary drug-users!

That said, I agree with DaB - while mongering is a big thing in all our lives, I wouldn't make life-decisions based on the availability of girls! Can you negotiate a new job with lots of holidays, or can you work from a laptop - if you are earning sufficiently, you can still travel for you mongering fun!

Dominican Republic, Costa Rica and Columbia (to name but a few) are within easy travelling distance from the States and you could even work in some long weekends if you are really keen!

Mongering is also pretty good in Toronto or Montreal. If you are close it is not bad to fly over and just have a weekend there.

As much as I love mongering in Asia, I am kind of glad I don't live there, cuz I would probably monger way too much haha

Thanks guys,

It will more or less be a lateral move. I am just trying to weigh all the factors and all things being equal the mongering is playing a bit part in my decision making. I was just wondering if anyone has done it and missed the mongering and pretty young WG's so much that they wished they didn't leave. You know the old saying hindsight is 20/20 I dont want to make a move I will regret.

i agree what the brothers above said. should not think not to move a job because of WGs. i believe you can still have a lot of WGs available to you as long as you hv money. If you don't have money, I don't think you can get any WGs in here as well. So if your job in the US can make you move up higher in the future, you should go.

maybe not for the mongering scene, but the general scene is easier with girls in general I believe.

Yes, you can't make a career decision based on mongering, however remember that you only have one life to live and you don't want to miss out on all the fun. This is a quite an exceptional, golden time in history for us as things are relatively cheap and plentiful. If you are a young guy with hormones and energy, then put it to good use, you'll never regret that no matter how much money you make.

Heck, I am trying to move my ass over to HK!

hk is a fantastic city not just mongering, but also food, entertainment, scenery, etc. but if you do plan on leaving to the US, go for it. just to give you a heads up, if you move to san francisco bay area, don't worry about no mongering, there are plenty of brothels here and the price is only slightly more expensive than in hk.

Funny you should mention this. I am also contemplating moving back to Canada and that thought has crossed my mind too. While I will miss mongering in Asia and some of the things (like the food, cheap stuff, China, getting away with a lot that I probably wouldn't be able to get away with in NA) there are so many things to look forward to in NA. Like proper etiquette, can actually breathe without choking on exhaust, wide open and CLEAN spaces, slower pace than HK, not wanting to kill the mainlander trying to budge in front of you or spit on your shoes, etc.. just to name a few.

Sirtiger

I think it depends on the person

Are you a big City person. Do you like to own or drive a car etc.

I dont think there is really anything bad about living in HK its just the flats are so small and expensive, Pollution is bad. And its very crowded and laugage is a barrier for me.

On the good side, The women look great and mongering is easy and inexpensive. taxes are low and if you are an investor you can make a lot of tax free money which I am not by the way

Having friends here already would be a big plus.

So its all a matter of opinion.

Good luck

The grass is always greener on the other side !!!

A decade or two back, when Canadians were sent to HK to work in the Canadian consulate
it was considered a 'hardship posting'

all I can say to you guys posting in this thread is ... do what you feel is the best thing for you
and don't look back with regrets !  you WILL do what you want to do, irrespective of the replies
you get here !

... and if you do decide to live in a barren country then tie a rubber band around your little one !

Think about moving to Los Angeles. Plenty of ways to monger and the prices are decent. LA is also pretty much immune from the USA economic problems provided that you have some decent experience.

LA sucks.
- Traffic is horrible even though they have 6-8 lanes of highway. All you do is sit in congested traffic
-You kidding me? The state of california is like in a junk bond rating status with a giant fiscal problem.
-If I had to pick 3 states in the USA that has the worse real estate debacle it would be florida, vegas & california.
-loads of illegal immigration
-lotsa homeless people
-Some like it or some hate it but the weather is seemlingly the same everyday.  sunny or sunny with some clouds.

OP:

yes, I always lived in a the big city of ny so I am use to it. Never lived in HK, I felt a strong connection during my visits. Only bad about HK is hot humidity, polllution, bad to raise a family, & real estate is pricey per sq ft.

RICO's advice is just go where the money is bro....Think with your head and not your heart....

Of course you will feel homesick because it is a big change in culture.....Everytime RICO visits Hong Kong...I feel very depressed when my holiday comes to an end....

On my last visit in March 2010....RICO was seriously thinking about relocating to Hong Kong....But the property prices were just totally ridiculous in Hong Kong...I even went to Macau to enquire.....

You might say that money isn't everything....I have one word for that answer....." BOLLOCKS"....

Make your dollars first then relax and spend it when you retire....

I have friends in NYC that came from HK, they never want to go back to HK again.  I have no idea why.  I could live in HK, on the outer islands with a bigger house.  1500 sq ft would be enough and an hour commute wouldn't be a problem.  The real problem is that I would miss all my friends and family here.  You can't make your decisions on mongering alone, I would be fucking divorced and a deadbeat dad living in China right now if I did.  Where you can make the money, you can get mongering services.  I still monger here in NYC, just not as often since the talent/service is half of what it is in HK and a quarter of the service I get in China.  Hence why I like to visit HK so often and to China whenever I can.

I think if you like the busy lifestyle with many option of things to do on any given day/night HK is pretty hard to top. For older family guys, most would probably prefer the life in most North American cities.
