Question for all the bros

Hey guys,

Does anyone have any good info on Kenny Huang (head of Hong Kong-based investment company QSL Sports Ltd) heavily rumoured to be heading a consortium to take over Liverpool FC.

As some will know I'm a big LFC fan and the fans eyes at the moment are on Mr Huang.

After the americans bought us out for pure profitability without actually having the funds neccessary to build the club the fans are rightly a bit wary.

Feel free to PM me with any info that will be passed on judiciously and not spread carelessly.

Does anyone know who his backers are for this buyout and whether they have a) the funds and b) a good track record with the companies they have bought previously.

Any good background on Kenny not available on wikipedia would also be good.

Appreciate it Bro's

A concerned / excited LFC fan

I'm suprised theres not more threads on footie on this forum. I'm a massive LFC fan too, started watching when I was 10, actually the last year we won the league, and often go to Anfield when I was living in the UK. Good to see another red here. YNWA!

Yeah I wouldnt mind some background info on him too. All I know is what the papers and websites have written, that he owns a bit of the Cavaliers and is heavily involved in sports development in China. Hopefully he's a front man for the govt to promote better awareness in Chinese football and players (although it would never happen cos Chinese players arent allowed dual nationality).

Moneys not even the issue, I just want the americans out and some stability, and a new stadium.

I'll be speaking to my cousin, who works for a big sports agency, see if she knows anything.

he was also the same guy who bought 15% of the Cleveland Cavaliers last year. of course, he was expecting Lebron James to stay. he could have bought the Cavs for a lot less this year.

better hope he doesnt have the reverse midas touch, with his stars leaving after he has bought the club

Luckily all th key players have vowed to stay (for another season at least). But now skysports are saying a consortium of Syrian and Canadian businessmen are in advanced talks.

What I don't understand is why leave it so late...we have hardly anytime to buy players, and some may be european cup tied.

The Syrian bid is bad news and possibly just a ruse by H+G to keep control.

The Syrian guy is a good friend of Foster Gillette George's son and was in talks months ago but did not have the backing.

Now he turns up again supposedly with CANADIAN (Ice hockey = Hicks and Gillette anyone) and middle eastern backers.

Smacks of a phoney bid to jack up the price of or prevent the Huang takeover going ahead by the start of the season forcing refinancing of the current loans and delaying the sale till international market conditions are more favourable for the yanks.

I'm not buying that as a serious bid.

That's why I'm interested in finding out about Huang

thats a good point bro, i was only worried about the canadian investors being n.american by nature and probably in it just for the profits, the way they run franchises over there...but you pose a good point.

Still cant find anything decent or not mainstream about huang but will post as soon as i do
