LOST Series

Hello, Any LOST fans out there? I didn't know about this show till a friend of mine was telling me how good it was. The show was already on it's 2nd season, so I had to rent the 1st season to catch up. I had the weekend off, so I decided to watch it and once I started I couldn't stop so I ended up finishing the whole 1st season in one sitting. I usually watch Chinese series because they come out so fast, but American series take forever. But American shows tend to be better, so I wait till the end of the season till it comes out on DVD then I watch the whole thing at once. The bad thing about that is I usually need a recap to remember what happen from the last season. Anyways back to the show. The 1st season was crazy, but the 2nd and 3rd season kinda sucked. I was planning to stop watching it because there seem to be more questions then answers about the show. Things started getting better during the 4th and 5th season when some of the questions started to get answered. I'm waiting for the final season to finishing airing before I start watching it again, but I'm excited because I really want to know how it all ends. Anyone care to share there LOST experience?

I've been doing the same, watching the whole series on dvd's that I've purchased from China, though I don't have your stamina, I watch a series over a month or so. I think the continuing layers of complexity that were added of the 2nd and 3rd series only added to it's watchability, but I realise I am in the minority with that opinion. I've read that each successive series of lost has attracted a shrinking number of viewers. This doesn't at all surprise me as most TV. viewers like simple black and white stories with everything neatly tied up by the end of the series if not the end of the episode e.g. Law & Order. I believe that in years to come Lost will be regarded as a classic of it's genre in much the same way as The Prisoner and Twin Peaks is today.

I'm trying something different for the current 6th season, which I believe will be the last, in that I am downloading it via torents to my computer, haven't started watching it yet as I am waiting till I have the entire season.

i was going to download it also since i didn't want to wait for it to be release on dvd, but you can watch it streaming online at www.abc.com if you don't mind the small commercial interruptions. the quality is just as good as the torrent versions. they have the whole season 6 streaming if you want to start watching it from the first episode. i'll probably get started on season 6 soon since there's only 2 episodes left, i'll let you know if its any good.

I used to love watching but towards the end of the 2nd season it was too fuzzy. I felt like it was fuzzy for fuzzy sake. You know how they dothe series? They write the script every week and then film it. It's not surprisingly that it became disorganized. That's my 2 cents that it was not a script well crafted out from the beginning and thus there was a lot of randomness and dragging on.

I have also watched after the first season and have caught up with the various DVD's.  I am watching this last season just for closure.  it seems like the story lines were much better in the 1st couple of seasons.  Now, the storyline is just getting more & more ridiculous.  Hopefully it will not end like an X-file episode.

yea i felt the same, but i'm just one of those person that starts a series and usually feel obligated to finish the series. i know a lot of people that stop watching the show for the very same reason as you gangster, but luckily i stuck to the series because during season 4 and 5 things started to get interesting again. hopefully this last season will be a good one or else I will be really mad because I been stuck watching this series for the past few years.

Unfortunately streaming doesn't work to well here in Australia due to our antiquated telephony system.

Season 1 is the best. But I hate the suspense and the prolong story line. Season 5 will reveal the reason why they stuck in that stupid island, history on the mysterious island and what is so special about the island.

I am now on the final season 6 - episode 14.
I almost give up watching season 5 until i learned that season 6 was the finale.

But if u have patience, do continue watching or else stop where u are and switch to Fringe !!!!

I've been watching LOST from the beginning, was a huge fan at first - but now, I'll be glad for it to end and be done with. There were some incredible moments of television, and some great characters, but as much as some staunch defenders of the show claim that it is about the characters and not answers to the mysteries, I've always thought that was a little bullshit. I want my answers!!! And I want it to make at least some vague sense.

Sadly, I have already accepted that the end will be disappointing and unsatisfactory - even the show's producers have gone on record to pre-empt the expected backlash by trying to lower fan expectations and readying the hard-core fans for an open ended non-conclusive finale.

As long as they don't completely cluster-fuck the thing like BSG or as Bohica mentions, X-Files, I'll give it a pass.

At least LOST will get a chance to have a season finale, unlike some of the other shows I like that didn't get a chance because they got cancel. One show I was watching was "Las Vegas" which aired for 5 season, but the show never had a finale. To cancel a show without a ending is just frustrating for the fans that has stuck by the show for many season. It doesn't leave a closure for the fans. Even if it was a bad ending, at least it would still be a ending rather then not having one. Another one of my favorite shows was "Life", I loved that show. It aired for 2 seasons and NBC decided to cancel it. The show had good potential, but it got axed like many other shows

Like some of the bros think here, LOST was good in the beginning, but then there were so many plots, twists and turns and they don't seem coherent. After a while, I lost interest and don't care to figure out why some things don't make sense.

Law and Order

Speaking of TV series coming to an end, it would seem the original "Law and Order" is coming to an end. Still there are so many spin offs from this series, I don't think any addicts to this show will be missing much.

After 20 seasons, Law & Order ends
May 16, 2010 - 12:16PM

The long run of the venerable police-courtroom drama Law & Order is over.
NBC announced on Friday that the show would end its historic 20-season run on May 24, with a season finale that was never meant to bring the saga to a close.
The show starred an ensemble cast currently consisting of Jeremy Sisto, Anthony Anderson, Linus Roache, Alana De La Garza, Sam Waterston and S. Epatha Merkerson, who, unrelated to the show's abrupt cancellation, had already announced she was moving on.

Even as it cancelled the original Law & Order, NBC announced a new drama in the Law & Order franchise called LOLA (Law & Order: Los Angeles). It will also renew Law & Order: Special Victims Unit for a 12th season.
NBC's full 2010-11 schedule will be officially released on Sunday.
The abrupt end of Law & Order could be explained by sagging ratings and creative fatigue, but a renewal had been widely expected nonetheless. Then, on Thursday, a flurry of reports declared the series to be doomed. NBC refused to confirm the reports. Negotiations were said to be continuing.
Jeff Gaspin, chairman of NBC Universal Television, said the legacy of Law & Order creator-producer Dick Wolf "will continue to make an impact like no other series before".
But the cancellation denies Wolf his long-held dream of surpassing Gunsmoke as TV's longest-running drama.
"Never complain, never explain," he said in a statement.

Think NBC is the worst television station in the US. They have no originality and the board should all be fired. What they did with the Late Show with Conan O'Brien and ousted him for US$45m was a joke. O'Brian was one of the best talents they've ever had. How NBC could schedule 3 talk shows on weekday nights is just absurd.

Definitely a lost fan.  I still remember the first episode of Lost I saw.  I thought it was a reality series instead of a TV series.  The concept just seemed so real.

I think 24 is an awesome series also.  My other favorite would have to be prison break.  For some reason, prison break is very popular in China.

I watched the first two seasons and seriously...I was lost after that (pun intended ;))

I had no idea what was going on and couldn't figure out why they were still stuck on the island. I have no idea why that show is popular
