Facebook to allow others to see where u surf

I read in the paper that Facebook will implement a new feature that connects all its users in a manner where one can see where his/her friends surf and post comments.  This new feature will deadly for all the bros in this forum as if you turn on this new feature, your friends and family see and read the comments you just posted in this forum.

As for myself, I don't have facebook as I am paranoid about my privacy.

No way this can pass any privacy laws. Facebook will lose all their users, who in their right mind would want their friends/family knowing their surfing history.

Are you sure it wasnt regarding surfing and posting within facebook?  That may seem more realistic.  If facebook wanted to track where ever else we went, they would prob ask you to install a client program like google desktop.

Just use IE or Firefox for facebook and use Google Chrome's Incognito window for your 141 surfing.  That's what I am doing.

I find that hard to believe. this would be the end of FB if true. who the fuck in their right mind would be comfortable with a feature like that?

That was what i was thinking, probably a rumour started up by some troll.

I don't think it's really possible.

it's a joke I think. Not necessarily by the Bro who made the original post, if he says he read it in the paper I believe him... but it is a "joke" by someone.

It could also be one of those groups that popped up on FB, you know, like the ones that say "300,000 and FB won't charge a $14.99 USD/month fee" or "Child abuse is bad, 500,000 fans will stop it"

They would have to do more then harvest 'cookies'. They would need to have something similar like Google desktop

Ok, I apologize for confusing you all.  I re-read the article again and the only way someone on facebook can see you visiting this site is if our forum puts a Facebook "Like" button or link on the website.

So for example if there was a Facebook ""Like" button on the db page of for the HG "BMW" and you pressed it, then all your Facebook friends would know right away you approve of BMW and like her.

Thankfully our forum still has common-sense and will never join the Facebook community as it would be suicidal and mean the death of this forum.

Here is the link to the article.

On a personal note, it is amazing how much ppl share with each other.  I like to remain mysterious even to my friends and family.

I agree, and twitter is worst. Why the f**k would anybody care what you are doing at every minute during the day. Seriously I don't care what you ate at 12pm or what you drank at 12:30pm or how at 2:30pm your looking for your missing sock.
Some of these features these social networking sites are ridiculous.... why would you ever need 1000friends? wouldn't 5 close friends be better? I think it has as much to do about ego than anything else.

HAHAHA. Thats so true. Sometimes peoples status updates are just.. "just drank a soup", Um why do i care? hahaha
i high doubt that this forum would approve such an application. facebook would need approval from each admin of the website to allow its applications.

To quote Entourage:

Vinny: "Hey, have you seen this Facebook thing?"

Eric: "Yeah"

Vinny: "I just signed up and I've already got like 12 friends!  How come you're not on it?"

Eric: "Because I'm an ADULT!"

I didn't do it.  Really I didn't.
