Get your Hep B shots

Here's a follow up to a story I should have finished ages ago.

Was shagging a WG who was biting my thumb as I came (at my request).  And when I pulled it out the damn thing was bleeding (no not that, the thumb).

Went to a private doc and asked what are the dangers of this.  Well in theory you can catch most things this way, but the most likely is Hep B which I haven't seen discussed on the forum yet.

Apparently it is 200 times more contagious than HIV, you just need a tiny bit and that's it you have it for life.  It's something you can for the most part live with, but can lead to many health problems.  It's nearly always contracted from sexual contact and 10% of the Chinese population have it.  So kinda relevant for the average HK mongerer.

Trying to bs your SO how you got it does not sound like a fun conversation.

And I didn't have immunity.

So I asked what are the chances of picking it up from my bloody thumb in a WGs mouth for a minute or so.  Impossible to say really but he guessed less than 10% cos the blood is flowing out.  So 10% of 10% overall giving 1%.

Got my shots and waited for 2 weeks and then took Hep B test along with all the other tests.  Safe.

But for any bros out there without Hep B antibodies, and even if you've had the shots years ago they can wear off, why take the risk.

Cost me 650 HKD a shot, think there were 2 or 3, last one 6 months after the first.  Protection starts to work 2 weeks after the first shot.

Also the doc asked what age was the girl, lifting his voice hopefully "in her teens" .  Younger WG are more likely to have been immunized.

I was lucky to grow up in Canada. those hep shots are mandatory in elementary & high school! given free by the ministry of health. for anyone who is planning to go to Asia and spending a lot of time mongering, wouldn't be a bad idea to get these done...

Asia does have a Higher concentration of Hep B and Hep C infections. Lucky for me that I am in the US and we too also have mandatory shots for Hep. My Grandmother had Hep C and it sucked to see her have to go through the hassle of having it.

hep b And c

A couple of years ago, I was on vacation in Ecuador and had a series of shots for Hep B, C and Yellow
fever. I was told by the doctor at the travel clinic that when I got aback after my trip if I got a second
and a third shot for Hep B and C that I would be good for life. I guess I better check on that.

Thanks for the reminder. Time for me to get a booster shot.

There are actually lots of ways to contract Hep B, so it's a good idea to stay on top of your immunization.
