Bro - Are you referring to D1 in Macau? Your answer is yes, they will accept credit cards - even issued from the U.S.

If you are going to Macau from HK, you can purchase a package from the agents in Shun Tak Center in Sheung Wan where the Macau ferry terminal is located. For further info, please read the Macau FAQ...

It's not a bad idea to let your credit card company know in advance what countries you'll be traveling to.  Sometimes use of your card in a foreign country can trip their fraud alert algorithm and it's a pain when that happens after hours or someplace where the phone connections are bad.

The packages are the same pricve if you buy from the ferry terminal or go to the establishment. The only difference is that you get the ferry tickets to go back and forth from Macau if purchased via the ferry terminal.

That is good advice.

I have had a card company ring my SO at home, then she rings me. Lucky it was for buying some watches, and not session at Rio spa. If I hadn't called card company within a couple of hours my card would have been put on HOLD.

It's also good for security to give card Co. dates as to when you will be in HK/Macau, etc., so transactions outside that span can be flagged. I only use the one card for transactions like Rio, etc., and I look at my statement on-line daily for a couple of weeks after to ensure my card is not being skimmed.

I can see it now:

"Mrs. Froddo, this is Mastercard . . . did you just charge a "Balls Deep Full Service Session" at the Happy Dragon Spa in Mong Kok?"

I have overseas credit cards too, but I am too scared to use them to visit the saunas in macau.  Do the saunas provide a different name (as cover) for their establishments that do not give an impression of their true nature?

Any examples?

Always use cash if you can swing it.  Just because your country of residence doesn't prosecute you for mongering now doesn't mean they won't in the future.  Charge cards leave a trail for decades, and who knows who'll be in charge then.  Just assume it's going to be some bible banging fundamentalist, and leave no tracks.

Bush and his private prayer breakfasts was already scary enough.
