hotel recommendation in SZ Luohu area

need a recco for a hotel, 2 star or more, in Luohu with free broadband internet capabilities and where the front desk people can speak Cantonese (or English) and under $250RMB/night.  Preferably within a 10 min walk to either the Guo Mao or Luohu MTR stations.  In the past, generally I've stayed in the more expensive places (Shang or Sunshine) - the only time I've stayed in Luohu at a cheaper place was at the Jinse Luohu Hotel and at the JinPeng Hotel, and at the time, neither had broadband.  Both would be acceptable (but a bit too far from MTR) if they had broadband, though no one at the front desk spoke Cantonese at either place.

Have a look at travelzen.com to give you online hotel listings for Shenzhen or other china cities.

If you want cheap, could always stay overnight at Queens Spa, near Luohu, for RMB98 which you can you sleep and have a massage. Internet access is extra for RMB10 for private terminals. However to get this RMB98 package you have to buy it from Huanggang border. They have a van service to take you from this border to Queens spa.

well, what I'm looking for is the following:  I was going to travel to SZ sometime this month, but the SO is there right now instead, so I probably will have to wait until sometime after CNY to go, like perhaps end of Feb/beg of March.  I would go for say a week as a working vacation.  That is, I would be working from the hotel during reasonable U.S. hours, which might be say from midnight to 8am HK time which would be from 8am to 4pm in the US, then have the rest of the day to fuck around (literally).  As long as there is broadband, I'm good to go. So I do need a place that can function as a home office.

thanks.  That site looks remarkably similar to ctrip.com.

A lot of choices - anyone have experience with the following hotels?:  Friendship, Kaili, Lotus, or Petrel hotels.  All in Luohu near the Guo Mao MTR station.

I know its a reply for a post that dates back ages ago but since I'm in SZ and was searching for Hotel on this board, I'd still follow up a little in case that future people might be interested in knowing.

I'm in Petrel Hotel right now. I think the rooms aren't that comfortable but its quite cheap. I took a suite for only 550 but its not as nice as Haifu's Suite which goes for 480rmb. The difference is that Haifu is SO close to Hooker Alley and so convenient. Also its new and the facilities are quite good.

In Haifu Hotel, there is a sauna on the second floor. The girls are quite nice although my personnel experience was a bit of a disaster. Only 400rmb for FS.

As for Petrel Hotel, there is a sauna on the 28th floor which I'm planning to give a try in a couple of hours. Will try to get pictures this time as I never manage to do so in the previous times.

Tomorrow I'll be staying at the Kaili which looks quite good. I'm basically hopping Hotel as I hop different girls. Why stay at one place when you can have different environment for different days and different fun !

So hope this help for future reference.

thanks for the info.  Main considerations are whether there is broadband available, and if the staff can speak Cantonese/English.

I suggest you to try LUOHU HOTEL, it is very near the GUOMAO metro station and GIRLS in the sauna are much better than PETREL'S. Even the rooms are better, just a little bit more expensive.

Try this:

Shanshui Trends Huafa Hotel
- bout 10 mins walking distance to LoWu station.
- Last I check, appx 280++RMB
- Clean and new (2 yrs ago)
- Trendy room layout.

If you dont mind taking cab (15 to 25RMB), between Lowu station, another hihgly recommended Hotel which i always stay is TIANXIN HOTEL, BAOGANG Road.
Rate from RMB168 to RMB298. Take the RMB198 room, comfy bed and average spacious.
- Dim Sum in this hotel is cheap.
- next door Cha Chan Teng is cheap and serve excellent food.
- Chinese Massage at 3rd floor RMB58 only with 1 free lounge service. Best veggie massage i ever had in China. 100% recommended. I have 3 regular masasge gals. If u interested, pm.
- HK massage (HJ), Hawaii/special massage (tits rub/fuck/HJ).
- Full service, not sure they still have, never tried bcos the gals are mutha fucking Fat.

Do you need to setup a reservation at any of these hotels in SZ or can you normally get a room just by showing up?  Thx.

Generally, ringing in to book gives you more chance of getting a room (but not guaranteed) - maybe a little bit cheaper. Walking up normally gives you the highest price.
