Yep, I'm keen to visit China in coming months, and have started learning a little Mandarin in preparation.
Depending on how much time I have, I'd like to visit at least DG, SZ, and Z, and maybe Beijing and Shanghai (I doubt if I'll make those last two on this trip, though, as I'll be focused on HK/Macau). I've already visited several other Asian countries, including Thailand, Malaysia, Singapore, Myanmar, ROK, and India.
I certainly would never compare a WG with an 'it' (c.f. use of the term 'meat' to describe them) - I probably should have said "goods and services" rather than "manufactured goods" - would have been clearer.
On a practical level, I totally agree with you: If a WG refuses me service, mai pen rai (Hope I remembered that correctly from my Thai visits) & move on to the next. Has never happened so far, touch wood.
