Hey guys, I was reading over a lot of reports here.  I read a lot of people try out those alley streets or barbershops or sex village and they seemed to brave going by themselves.  My question is, how safe are these places?

Please give some safety tips as I'm not sure if I should go try or not.

You are refering to SZ are you?

If you are a newbie and completely unfamiliar with the area, maybe you should consider going
with a buddy who is familiar with the area or at least with some company (strength in numbers
as they say). Most of the reports here on the SZ BBS/Hooker Alley are quite comprehensive
in terms of information so at least that helps quite abit.

As to safety, alone or in a group, standard rules apply:

1. If a MMS offers you a deal that is too good to be true, it probably is. Don't follow her. Usually
    they will lead you to some apartment telling you thats where the girls are - could very
    well be a setup where some guys will mug you.

2. Of course, don't advertise your wealth or 'out-of-town' status too blatantly.

3. There has been good advice given by the bros here that despite not being local, you got
    to come across as someone who is an old-hand in the area and who knows his stuff.
    Not easy, but you got to project a degree of confidence.

These are simple precautions that you should take. Be vigilant but not too uptight as well.
BBS places can be dodgy to the core, and some are definitely traps waiting to be sprung. But,
having said that, you can't discount the fact that it can be a heck of alot of fun with some
gems around (plus its pretty cost-effective as well).

However, most of those alley and BBS offer $150 for 1q, isn't that a very low price already?? How can there be even "too good to be true" scenario?

The "too good to be true" thing happens when they start quoting you insanely low prices like
50 RMB. They're just "fishing" for potential people they can mug - newbies or otherwise.
Yeah the going rate is 150 RMB so be very wary of another one who promises a much lower
price.

If you are at Shangrila hotel, you would walk in the opposite direction of lo wu train station.  about 2 blocks from Shangrila, you will see restaurant chain "cafe de coral" (or "da jia le (putonghua)).  At this corner there will be many mamasans working at the corner.
If no mamasans around, at corner of the cafe de coral, make a right turn towards the buildings.  It should be the second building.  

In this building there are many apartments that house the girls.  The one that I venture most is on the 25th floor.  Other floors with gals are 8th, 28th and a few more floors.
