Did anyone ever read about a book called 'The Mystery Method' written by Mystery, who was the coach of Neil Strauss.
Does the method stated in the book really works ?

I read the book the game, you can actually download videos from the mystery method if you want from websites, it doesn't teach you much, well at least not for me, pretty much a lot of stuff i knew already, like confidence, well groomed etc

You can search up alot of these types of books called PUA (Pick up artist) on Piratebay. Personally they could work or just blow up in your face, you have to just learn to be yourself and confident. The mystery method might work for mystery but there are too many variables that may change... Just experiment and find your own way.

As an older guy, what I can tell you is the art of the pick up is to be picked up. That is don't try to hard to pick up a woman. Be interested (or at least pretend to be) in what she has to say, but never ever come across as being desperate for a woman. Inject a little bit of humor into the conversation, particularly that of the self depreciating kind. Be, or pretend to be, confident, competent, and sensitive. Make it a challenge to them to pick you up, don't be desperate to pick them up (women have huge egos too, if you are not apparently really keen to pick them up they begin to wonder why). Its strange sometimes but the less you try, the more you succeed with women. Visit a WG or two before you go out to pick up, it will take the edge off your desperation, and trust me women can smell desperation a mile off! That my take on it in brief. i'm almost 60 and still in the game, and you don't get to be as old as I am without learning a few tricks.....

The Chinese Proverb "walking 10000 miles brings more wisdom than reading 10000 books" springs to mind (forgive me if I misquoted, maybe a bro can give us the correct translation!!)

... so my advice is, OK read stuff, but your best bet is to go out and actually DO what the books talk about.  Be careful not to turn into an insecure bookworm!  

Having said that there is good material out there that can give you tips and pointers.  One source of a lot of free stuff is Eben Pagan's work - he writes as David D'Angelo and has a program he calls the "inner game" to deal with confidence etc.  

The issue with confidence is you can't find it anywhere outside of yourself - it's not in a book, it's not in a buddy or a coach or a teacher, it's not in a beer-mug ...
... actually I'll take that back, a little alcohol does of course reduce inhibition and can increase confidence - just make sure you're still sober and coherent otherwise your liquid confidence can backfire!! ...

Confidence is - quite simply - facing your fears and going ahead anyway.  Guess what?  Girls love that in a guy.  They're most attracted to guys who "look like they get what they want".  

Best way to build confidence is to notice what works for you, and then do more of that.  Set yourself small progressive goals to go one more step each time, and keep track of your progress ... you will always have setbacks no matter how good you are ... the definition of confidence is to stay in the game and try again, giving it your best shot.  Count your successes, challenge yourself, and laugh when you crash and burn.
