#6 Post at 3-7-2009 01:25  Profile P.M.  Font size: S M L Reply #5 grantbone's post What don't you understand?  There are two batsmen (not "batters") - one at each end of the pitch.  You've got a bowler who takes a run-up and bowls the ball overarm.  The bowler can bowl a full toss (that means it doesn't bounce onto the pitch) or bowl it so that it hits the pitch once.  The bowler's aim is to (i) hit the wickets (called "bowled"), (ii) get the batsmen trapped LBW - leg before wicket, (iii) caught, or (iv) stumped - that is, the wicketkeeper knocks the bails off the wickets while the batsman is out of his crease....   too much vocab and too time-consuming to explain ..... maybe better to do a google search on second thoughts.
